I have a parent who has been a resident at Centralia Point for several years and we have experienced several directors through that time. The last director was a bit of an airhead, but she was very kind and appeared to genuinely care about residents. Since the new director started at the beginning of the year I have observed her interaction with staff, residents, and their families. I personally have not had a conversation with her, nor do I want to because she comes across rude, condescending, and disrespectful. Passing by her office or in the halls I have over heard conversations with residents, the resident manager Lisa, nurse Amy, and many medication aids and caregivers. The way in which she spoke to those employees was appalling as she spoke to them as if they were beneath her and with a total lack of respect. I have worked as a manager for years and understand the challenges managing employees, but her approach is completely unprofessional. I don’t know her experience managing employees, but it appears she is in way over her head and failing miserably. The turnover rate of medication aids and care givers is alarming and perhaps if employees were treated better, they would stay. After speaking with some other residents' families about their interactions with the director, they said she came across fake and at times rude. My parent has mentioned that many of the residents are not happy with the new director. I am currently looking for a new place for my parent to live and suggest you do not bring your loved one here until a change in management has been made. On a positive note, my parent loves many of the medication aid, care givers, and speak highly of kitchen staff. My parent does get exceptional care from all the care staff. My parent and our family have had wonderful experiences with Tracy in the office, resident manager Lisa, nurse Amy, and Pam when she was still working there. All the staff appear to care greatly for all of the residents. I normally don’t complain as I am very go with the flow but cannot remain silent anymore. I hope that the owner/owners of Centralia Point know who they have running their building and make appropriate changes before it’s too late. Centralia Point could be an exceptional place for your loved ones if the proper experienced director was in place.

I had both my parents (until losing one), and then just my father here for three years. I have seen a lot of change. And in the past few months it has been terribly negative. I believe it is due to the failed leadership of the Executive Director as well as inadequate oversight of that failed Director from their corporate leadership. It is obvious when objectively observing the decline in food, in hearing the complaints of employees and residents alike increase, massive dismissals of staff, massive resignations of staff, delayed medical assistance response times, and an overall sense of negativity; that the Director is in over her head. Being experienced in organizational leadership myself, I can see that this failure is coming from an immature and struggling young Director that is demonstrating her lack of experience. I believe the current Executive Director is incompetent, simple as that. Leadership matters, and until Benicia Senior Living gives her the training or support she lacks, I would find somewhere else to place my loved one. (There were so many wonderful care givers at Centralia Point. Most all of them that I know are gone, fired or quit recently. I have nothing but respect for all of those Wonderfull people and the recent declines are not their fault, to the contrary) It was a better place before this current failed Executive Director, and for all those vulnerable people that I grew to love's sake, I hope it can pull itself out of this current slump. For your own sake, please review the citations from the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. Research for yourself the conclusions and citations from the state oversight office charged with protecting vulnerable Washingtonians. (Some recent citations and reports may be delayed due to the appeals process by Centralia Point. But the truth does and will come to light)

Our six week journey that brought us to Centralia Point was a challenging one to say the least. But once connected with Pam then getting our mother settled in, everything has been amazing. The attention, compassion, and comfort we’ve experienced has been a contributing factor to our mother adjusting to her new surroundings quickly. Mom is safe, happy, and well taken care of.

I am so pleased with Centralia Pointe. Pam helped tremendously to help me arrange my father into memory care. The nursing staff worked diligently with my father's medical care team to get him stable in his new environment (he had a rough time getting acclimated due to his dementia). All the staff is helpful and friendly. The facility is clean and welcoming. Rooms are comfortable. The price is fair. The staff helped me with this difficult process of entering my father from independent living to memory care. You all are the best!! :-)

Rating: ★★★★★ I recently visited Centralia Point Assisted Living and Memory Care and was impressed with the tour. Pam, the Community Relations Director was very accommodating and took the time to answer all my questions .The entire facility was spotless, with clean, well-maintained common areas and private rooms. I did not detect any foul odors. It was clear that cleanliness is a top priority, which is so important in a care environment. The staff was genuinely caring. They took the time to engage with residents individually, demonstrating patience and understanding. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it feel like a home rather than just a care unit. Overall, You should definitely consider Centralia Point for anyone seeking quality memory care for their loved ones. The combination of cleanliness, friendly professionalism, and compassionate care.
