My husband was a patient at Central Island and I cannot recommend a better rehab. Sara and Andrea from admissions are so helpful. The nursing staff is attentive, kind and patient. The rehab was structured with both short and long term goals given. The rooms were clean and the food was really good! The staff were educational and kind. Will be recommending!

I was a patient at Central Island and cannot thank the staff enough for the care I received. From admissions, to nursing, social work, recreation and therapy, I couldn't recommend a better facility for your loved ones. The staff is attentive to your needs and educate you every step of the way. The facility is clean and organized. I can't thank you all enough for what you do, you have made this journey much easier for my family and I. Go to Central Island for great people and even better care.

My mom just spend two months in the Central Island Healthcare rehab and wer were very impressed with their care, cleanliness and kindness of the aids, nurses and staff. It is evident to us that those who they hire are extremely devoted to their calling. We were also very impressed with the recreation staff, and the physical therapists. All were extremely professional and made every effort to ensure that mom was engaged and worked to her best abilities.

Central Island Healthcare is the very worst facility I have ever experienced. My Dad was there for five days. He developed pneumonia and they claimed for several days that they would help him but never did. They claimed they would bring an X-ray machine and never did. They didn’t even give a diagnosis. The staff member who dispenses the medication argued with me in front of my dad until my dad begged to please stop. When we told them that we were going to take dad to the hospital the head nurse said that she would see what was going on. She then went to a computer and never came back. They resisted but we took him to the hospital and the hospital found that at that point it was too late to help him. Critical time had passed and he ended up suffering horribly. In addition to their negligence the Central Island staff were rude, hostile and belligerent. My dad told me that they were handling him physically rough. Anytime I asked for help the staff would take a long time to help and sometimes not even help at all. When I chose to stay late for visiting hours the staff panicked and became intimidating trying to force me leave even though visiting hours are 24 hours. I would never in a million years recommend that hellhole and that staff of monsters. Why in gods name is the place being funded? We made three mistakes, taking dad there, believing a word that they said and not suing them for malpractice.

I just spent the last four weeks at Central Island healthcare for rehab for a total knee replacement. I have nothing but good things to say I immediately noticed how bright and crisp the linens and bedspreads were. I had a windowsill with the view! The entire staff was very accommodating and respectful. They even anticipated my need for a raised toilet seat and had it waiting! Everyone came to introduce themselves personally by the next morning & it began awesome as my meds were on time and to my surprise, bacon for breakfast! The kitchen was also very accommodating with their wide selection of substitutions delivered personally! The hallways were clean and quiet beds were made fresh daily while at PT. the entire Rehabilitation team was wonderful, OT& PT. I enjoyed riding the bikes & walking outside.The atmosphere was cheerful and residents were helping and inspiring to each other. I looked forward to going each day. The recreation team was terrific! They came to your room each morning chipper as can be with the flyer of the daily activities and entertainment. I experience the hula luau and singers on two occasions, but I must say my favorite was the patio where the “regulars”would meet to catch some sun & conversation. I’m looking forward to returning for my next surgery shortly!
