I'm sorry to leave such a poor review. You should know what can happen there. We were pushed by Regions Hospital's Social Services people to choose Capitol View rehab, although it wasn't our first choice. It turned out to be a nightmare. They are severely short staffed. Many of their employees barely speak English making communication almost impossible. They do not look at the patient when speaking, further inhibiting communication. Unfortunately, my family member got tangled in a mess of cords at the foot of the bed and took a bad fall. Capitol View blamed the patient and for the remainder of time there prevented independent movement. Their reason for this? "Risk of falls!" It would be funny if it weren't so pathetically their fault for causing the fall. Capitol View people don't like it if you ask questions. Communication is not their thing. And if you do ask questions, be prepared for retaliation. In our case, they had one of their upper managers call and engage in a hostile, adversarial conversation--while all we wanted was information about the care plan. Our conclusion was that they have so much to hide that they take an aggressive stance to cover it all up. From then forward, the entire staff at Capitol View refused to speak with family AT ALL, except for their poor social worker who was trying to keep her job in the face of what she had to have known was Capitol View's mismanagement and hostility. The head of physical therapy mischaracterized our family member's health status to such an extent that it made absolutely no sense. We were forced to hire an outside care agency for an objective assessment and learned that indeed our perception of the situation was correct--that Capitol View's reports and conclusions were questionable and we were being retaliated against for caring enough to inquire. At that point, Capitol View was eager to discharge our family member and once home, it was clear that no effort had been made to provide the medical care that initially required the stay in rehab. Within a few days we were back in the Emergency Department which determined that immediate surgery was necessary to try to correct the injuries sustained while at Capitol View. Unfortunately, some of those injuries are serious and permanent. While the Medicare website gives this rehab facility high scores for whatever factors are important to them, we know that our experience there was the worst kind of nightmare. Our family member was robbed of dignity, misdiagnosed, ignored and permanently injured. Give serious thought before you use this TCU. There are better options. I might add that this patient has now died after a miserable summer that began with this horrific experience at Capitol View. I will forever link Capitol View with this preventable death.

What a collection of golden hearts. Every single person we met was just outstanding. I love u all. You took such good care of my wife. All you all, really care and strive to do the best. I have never met such a collection of really great people who care. Such a difference between the " big scale" of Regeons. You are all really something special. Bring your loved ones here. There is no better.

I was surprised to see these negative reviews and decided to write about my 97 year old mother's experience there after falling and needing hip surgery in January 2025. She had previously chosen Capitol View after a knee replacement and really liked the place. She had a good experience both times. I especially like that therapy is offered 7 days a week, often two times a day. This makes a huge difference. Everyone we encountered, from the unit receptionist, to the financial person, to the nurses were kind and caring. I would highly recommend Capitol View. I am sorry that someone else had a very negative experience. The social worker we were assigned wasn't very good but her colleague helped us out a lot.

I have been for a week and the entire staff has been wonderful. Everyone is very professional and very friendly. They all come in at shift change to introduce themselves so that you know who your nurse is. They continually check in to see if you need anything! I have been very impressed with the attention and the customer service provided!
