Drove 40 min to check out a room and the person who was in charge of showing rooms was on a break. They refused to provide a time frame for their return and also were not helpful in the least. They offered to show us a room listing on line but that was already done and now was the step for a in person viewing. Poorly managed place and just really awful customer service.

Horrible! Unresponsive staff. Let 7 voice mails with no response, then i left a note & finally received a response. After going through the intake process & being accepted, we show up on move in day only to find out that now there is no room. Beyond irritating experience!

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! ONLY GO HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR LOVED ONE TO DIE OF NEGLECT. If there was a negative rating, I'd give that. They do not provide transportation to medical appts, the food is awful, the "care givers" ignore calls for help from residents, they are lazy & rude, most of them can't read English, they cannot keep admin or maintenance staff, they Never follow thru on anything, holes in the walls, heater on full blast all year with broken thermostat, no help provided even though they promise it, they present residents with bills for back rent a year later, even though it's paid by Medicaid, foreign staff members have broken 3 tower fans which i paid for personally. This place is awful.

I have found this place to be very decent. Caring kind staff, good food, clean (I have not encountered bed bugs nor fire hazards and I trained as an EMT and firefighter) love this place. Residents friendly as well.

I was initially awed by the staff, and one resident in particular who were so helpful and friendly on an impromptu visit to Canterbury Gardens. I was directed to their admissions coordinator/marketing director Diana Morefield for further assistance, which is where my experience became unpleasant. I had been leaving messages, and going back and forth with Ms. Morefield for a number of weeks trying to get my mothers medical records to her "clinical team" for a "clinical assessment" however she initially stated she never received the documents, then stated she received them, but not to worry because there was space, then later being told that the clinical team was out, and so was she, and she had no time frame on when anyone would be able to get an answer. In inquiring about the normal timeline, I asked if it was a good idea for me to continue to reach out to her, and she angrily advised me not to call anymore, that she would call me. Ms. Morefield continued on yelling that "They Do Not Hold Rooms!" As an admissions coordinator it is unfortunate that the party in charge is running people away opposed to remaining professional and explaining the admissions process truthfully, and in a compassionate manner. I am looking for a stable "home" for my loved one, not a room. I really felt that this was going to be a good place for my mother, but feel blessed that I was able to get a glimpse of what could have turned out to be a poor experience for my loved one if she would have became a resident of this facility. It is unfortunate that the entire facility is negatively impacted by one person, however Ms. Diana Morefield is the first point of contact that most family members encounter when attempting to enter this assisted living/independent care environment. Her unprofessionalism, and uncaring demeanor are a poor representation and add to the stigma of how senior facilities are ran by money mongers instead of people who truly have a passion for securing a comfortable, safe, long-term environment for the elderly.
