Canterbury Center

Canterbury Center is a long-term care and short-stay rehabilitation facility located in Shepherdstown in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. The center serves patients recovering from surgery or illness, as well as those requiring support with chronic illness management.

The facility offers physical, speech, and occupational therapy services in a rehabilitation gym built in 2008. Orthopedic rehabilitation services include treatment for joint replacement, injuries, and amputation. Meals are served restaurant-style in the dining room, and the center maintains comfortable common and lounge areas for residents and visitors. An alarm system is available to support the security of residents with cognitive deficits.

Canterbury Center employs approximately 80 staff members to provide care. The facility is a recipient of the American Health Care Association Bronze Quality Award and reported in 2010 that more than 90% of patients and residents would recommend the center as an excellent choice for care.
