Know this,nursing homes are just a place for people waiting for the grim reaper,and Burton is no different. It is a business, that overcharges you , Medicare and Medicaid. Its a baby sitting place for adults .There's allot of people who have dementia there,majority residents have roommates, and they blend them together because of equal rights. The quality of eating sucks,their menu is just rubbish most of time. But majority people don't eat what is served to them,they just eat desserts and drink chocolate milk, so then they have malnutrition. The quality of bedding sucks too,lot of it needs replaced, its like being punished and in prison, I had to put cardboard between mattress and spring ,so it would stop sticking in my tailbone . Place is under staffed at night 2 nurses for entire building, if there's 1 disaster at night,theres no one available for rest of building. Need assistance...20 minutes minimum before someone comes, most of time. The staff seems burned out,..some are good, some don't care, some lazy beyond imagination, some overstep their bonds and think their the supreme ruler. Reporting anyone is waste of time,nothing changes very long. Rehab tries,but most residents just refuses to engage. Weekends are the worst time for nursing home,there's nothing to do,if you get visitors its great,otherwise you wish the grim reaper will show up sooner. Entertaining the residents, half time is placing them in front of TV. Occasionally there's church services, people volunteers their time ( anything for free) ,Veteran services come,Activities dept. try engaging residents into activities,its always just a few show. You'll need a sweater all year round inside,too cool summertime, not enough heat in winter & spring . Good place for your enemy or hated family member.
