My mom has been in a rehab room for two weeks now after a fall and the staff is wonderful! From the administration department to the floor nurses, everyone has been so nice and helpful. The food available is very good and there are many fun activities to participate in everyday. A big shout out to Meg and John from the Physical Therapy department for being so positive and informative!

This place has poor staffing, not enough aides on the floor to help these poor patients. I have seen many issues that are detrimental to care. The aides do their best but without enough help morale is down. Patients suffer from lack of attention. Call buttons get slow response. I saw patience who fell in floor while waiting for help. No aides watching over 12 patients in hall. There isnt any activity for these patients. They sit in a hall in wheel chairs staring into space. Where is the activity for them, coloring, or other? Its sad to see. Also the attention to those who have a hard time at feeding is not addressed. Who is the administrator to be called?

Before you send a loved one there for rehab, take a walk down the hall of the rehab area. I wish we had done that. When we went to visit my loved one, we saw filled dirty linen baskets lining the hallway, smelling of urine and feces . That was sickening. They did not bother to dress my loved one and sat a dirty bedpan with a dirty pull up in the visitors seat. My loved one could not feed herself and they just left the tray and never bothered to help her. The basket in the room was full of dirty pull-ups to near overflowing and the stench was not tolerable. They told my loved one that at night they do not get people up for the bathroom, she had to get a bedpan or just go in the bed!!! I was appalled. I would not kennel my dog there! If I could give less than one Star, I would. It took me 3 calls and a demand at the desk to get a call from the admin. Within 3 hrs, I received a call that my loved one tried to get out of bed and fell. The roommate said the beds rolled and she rolled out, so, the brake was not applied. I asked for a rail and was told NYS law prohibits them. That is not the whole truth. The truth is, with a doctors order a rail can be placed, with plans for release time. Before I could make plans to get her out of that hellhole, nature took its course and she was transferred to a hospital. I beg you to go for yourself and make an inspection before committing.

Edit: my concerns were fully addressed and I was contacted by the social worker Elizabeth (wonderful lady) and the Director and Assistant Director of Nursing. I appreciate the speedy response. Thank you! I do not like this facility!!!! My father has been here since February 10th and the staff is horrible! No bedside manner, no updates, joke around at the nurse’s station all day doing nothing. There is not team work on the units. I worked as a nurse for years and my past charge nurses would not have allowed this craziness that goes on here. They don’t change patients who are hoyer lifts or immobile on time or turn them in bed. No one has manners it can look you in the eye either. I now have been on hold for 25 minutes at the 4 west nurses station and the phone is up and I recorded them talking bad about patients and no one has come to the phone yet. I hope they see my review. My Dad does not deserve this. Don’t send your loved ones here. There are 1 or 2 good ones though. The rest just shift the blame on others and act confused

My husband was sent there for rehab after surgery. Horrible experience. Not clean. Thank goodness I was able to be there to care for him. 45 minutes he rang for help in the night. Across from nursing station. Just heard them all night laughing and talking. Not once did they take temp. Blood pressure etc No washcloths. Stained sheets. Had to ask for everything. He had a drain tube…an LPN came in to empty it after we requested her to do this. She came in and ask if I knew how to do this. Thank goodness I did from asking questions What rehab? Still waiting for that answer He had to have a TB test. I said really he just had surgery and tons of bloodwork There is much more here but not enough space to write it all I’m not usually a complainer. But when your loved one needs comfort and care you also need peace of mind that they will receive just that. I feel for the ones that do not have someone to be there with them. This experience has really opened our eyes. If ever needed again it will not be there
