Visiting your loved ones is hard when you know they aren't cleaning the facility. It smells horrible 😫 so bad I almost puked! The smell of poop, urine, and unclean rooms will knock you out! I mean it's so bad it will take your breath literally. They are not cleaning anything or anyone in there. I suggest you wear a mask if you go in this facility. Disgusting I mean purely nasty 🤮

This facility should not be trusted with anyone you care about. If you love your family member, do not bring them here. Within just two days, my mother was given 13 pills at once and fed a diet consisting almost entirely of pasta (mac and cheese, pasta with red sauce) and broccoli stems. Huntsville Hospital later confirmed concerns of overmedication. I became so alarmed by her condition and the lack of proper care that I had to call the police to have her removed. Two days later, I still have not received a follow-up call. On top of that, four different residents with four different medical needs were expected to share a single bathroom. That alone is unacceptable. My mother called me repeatedly for two hours because she needed help getting out of bed and using the bathroom, and no one was assisting her. When I tried calling the facility, I was met with a voicemail that specifically said not to leave a message and to call back. That is beyond unreasonable. What I witnessed walking into the facility was just as disturbing. There was a patient at the entrance smoking a cigarette as if they were trying to hide it. At the second desk (north side), multiple patients were lined up in front of the desk appearing heavily medicated and unattended. The staff’s behavior was just as concerning as the treatment. Their body language was aggressive—finger pointing, hands on hips—and their tone was consistently condescending. Despite signing in and providing my driver’s license, I was still questioned about who I was. When I asked to review my mother’s rehabilitation plan, diet, and medications, the situation escalated. A nurse identifying herself as Vanessa Anderson, along with two other staff members, approached the room in an intimidating, confrontational manner instead of addressing my concerns professionally. These are despicable events to encounter when trusting a facility to care for your family. This was my experience, and it was unacceptable. I strongly urge others to think twice before placing a loved one in this facility.

Assisting the wife of a fellow Veteran decide which facility serves the need of her husband being discharged to Rehabilitation. She placed this facility as No. 1. It was clean, well maintained, providing the care he would need and covered with his insurance.

As part of the Ambassador Program with the HSV/Madison County Chamber, I attended a ribbon cutting here yesterday. I don't currently have a relative that needs this type of facility, but if I did I would look at this organization as an option. The staff was very nice and the facility was very clean. I highly recommend if you are looking for a safe and caring place to take care of your loved one.

My mother was admitted to Brookshire after hip surgery and also has significant dementia which required a bit more care. The staff was friendly and helpful. The CNAs were responsive and caring. The rehab staff got the job done and Medicare decided mom was doing so well they sent her home a week before we anticipated. The only negatives are the food and the building itself which is run down. But the caring staff makes those things seem less important. A special shout out to Sherrie Brown and Carrie Taylor who have continued to assist me with getting me through the horrendous process of FMLA paperwork!
