We moved our mom into an apartment at Brookdale Summerfield and have been stunned by the compassion and kindness of ALL the staff. There are so many activities available for mom to join - everything from trips to the grocery store, restaurant field trips, to knitting. The library, dining room (with excellent menu options) and other general population areas are lovely and welcoming! If you are considering a location with your loved one, I recommend Brookdale Summerfield for your consideration. We took a tour and knew we had found mom’s new home.

My 91-year-old mother moved here earlier this year, and she loves her apartment, along with the meals in the dining area and the many activities offered during the day. Her social schedule is busier than mine! The management does an excellent job communicating with families through a weekly e-mail newsletter, but they are also available to speak with you directly at any time. I have hired the aide service and they have been great in helping my mother. What I liked about the set-up is that you can use different levels of aide services, depending on the needs of your loved one. I would highly recommend Brookdale Summerfield!

Just as the country was on the verge of the COVID pandemic, we realized our parents needed full-time supervision and care. That meant they had to leave their home of more than 50 years, so their new residence had to be something very special. We found this at Brookdale Summerfield. Although it is advertised as independent living, services can be added through outside contractors who, despite COVID mandates, made the transition smooth and seamless. We eventually had to move our parents to another Brookdale community (that's another benefit ... in most circumstances, residents can transfer to any other Brookdale community in the country without paying the initial entrance fee again) for more support, but their time at Summerfield was precious and rewarding thanks to past director Linda, current director Deena, and the wonderful team at Brookdale Summerfield.

We moved my 95 year old mother to Brookdale Summerfield a little over a year ago and it has exceeded all expectations. If we could give it 100 stars, we would. Mom feels safe, loves her "little apartment," says the food is delicious, enjoys the staff who is always so kind and patient with her, enjoys the occasional outings and all of the engaging activities. It is clean and the staff management has been there for a long time, which is very telling. The manager, Deena, sends a great email update weekly, so we always feel informed. If we're ever out of town and need to have someone check on mom, there is never any hesitation. I could go on and on, and I highly encourage anyone who is looking for assisted living for their loved one to put it at the top of their list.

Brookdale Summerfield has proven to be an answer to prayer for both of my parents. My mother passed away since they moved in, and my father is doing quite well for being 100+ years old. The staff here are all friendly, courteous, and very helpful. They have always treated my parents and others that I've observed with caring and compassion. The aides we have had (Caring Hands of Compassion), while not employed by Brookdale, work at Brookdale and have always provided top notch care. The only reason I would rate Brookdale with 4 stars as opposed to 5 is the rent is high and hard for most people to afford. However, given the overall care, sometimes sacrifices need to be made to have your loved ones so well cared for. Thank you Brookdale Staff and Caring Hands of Compassion! You are all appreciated beyond words!!
