My mom moved in 3 months ago. I have found the staff to be very caring and attentive, always available and responding to our concerns. Folks must understand that there are adjustments to this kind of living arrangement. It is a process that the residents (and their families) must go through. I really appreciate all the efforts by every staff member I have met. There are staffing challenges that I believe all senior living facilities are facing and this group is managing it well. I live nearby and visit a couple times a week. It is neat and clean, pretty decor, sufficient meals (sampled at Mother's Day Brunch!), and loving care-givers. I like that it has a small, homey feel. There are much larger facilities but you will certainly pay for amenities that maybe you don't need. I would challenge anyone to find a better place. P.S. My mother likes to keep her door open. Nothing has ever been stolen.

My dad has been a resident at Brookdale since February 2021. His move from his previous facility to Brookdale was seamless and this was during Covid-19. The day my dad moved in he said I like living here. Since moving in he has been involved with the different activities that are offered to the residents. He is very happy living there and just knowing that he is happy makes me happy. The staff at Brookdale is what makes this such a great place to live. Not only do they provide quality service and care to the residents but also their families. A big thank you to Juanita Brunson, Executive Director and to all the staff at Brookdale for taking care of my dad. This is a great place for your loved one to live at.

They made the move in process easy. My mother just turned 85 and she has not been happy for a very long time. She worked hard and has always been very independent. So with this she wanted to stay in her home. After being in the hospital twice in one week she finally agreed being home alone just was not good. My mom moved into Brookdale on June 17th and her attitude has changed for the better. She is more relaxed and pleasant. Today she agreed with me she should have considered this move sooner. The staff at Brookdale is very friendly and caring. My mother has been on 2 trips to Delaware park and on a drive about and she is very happy. This makes all of us happy to know she is enjoying the new friends she has made and that she is safe. I highly recommend Brookdale Hockessin.
