My dad moved into Brightview’s memory ward over 2 years ago. He was recovering from a broken hip and was in a bad place with his mental and physical health. Moving to Brightview was the best decision our family has made. My mom would go see my dad almost everyday, and the staff were so kind to them both. When my mom passed away earlier this year, they comforted us and cried with us. The Director of Brightview, Shaina Smith, is an incredibly hard working, detail oriented, and kind leader. She’s more like a saint than a person to our family. My dad is a loner and has been depressed since we lost our mom, and Shaina has made it her mission to not let him suffer alone. She not only was able to get him to smile, she got him to be involved in organized events, and even got him to go on a field trip! Never would I imagine this level of engagement from my dad and then I see him on the cover of Brightview’s newsletter! (He’s the white haired Viet man in the bottom right.) Brightview has been a blessing. We are so grateful for the amazing Shaina, her caring team, and Brightview!

After more than five years at Brightview Woodburn Assisted Living, our family recently made the difficult decision to transition my mother to a community closer to our family. Leaving was bittersweet because Brightview had become such an important part of our lives. When people ask what made Brightview special, my answer is simple: the people.<br>The maintenance team consistently went above and beyond to ensure my mother's apartment was safe, comfortable, and well maintained. I would especially like to recognize Brightview's Maintenance Director, Mehran Beygzadeh, who was always incredibly responsive whenever I had a question or concern. He took the time to communicate, follow through, and make sure everything was taken care of, which I deeply appreciated. His kindness and support—especially on my mother's moving day—meant far more than he probably realizes. The housekeeping staff took wonderful care of my mother's apartment, and her laundry was always returned clean and neatly done. The concierge team was always welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Whether answering questions, greeting visitors, or helping with the countless little things that arise over the years, they made every visit feel personal and caring. The dining staff took the time to truly know my mother as a person—not just as another resident. They remembered her preferences, greeted her by name, shared conversations with her, and built relationships that meant far more to our family than they probably realized.<br>I would especially like to recognize the medication technicians who cared for my mother throughout her years at Brightview. Their patience, kindness, and compassion went above and beyond. They earned my mother's trust, took the time to build lasting relationships with her, and made an incredible difference in her daily life --that brought our family tremendous peace of mind. Over the years, many members of the activities team worked hard to help my mother feel included, encouraged her to participate, and celebrated the things that brought her joy. Those past moments of connection made a meaningful difference in her quality of life. I also want to recognize the nursing team and Director of Nursing for always willing to answer questions, provide guidance, and support both my mother and our family whenever we needed it. Most importantly, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Milisa Rhodes. During the past year, her guidance, compassion, and unwavering support meant more to me than I can adequately express. She was always there to listen, answer my questions, offer thoughtful guidance, and help me navigate the many challenges that come with advocating for a loved one. Her kindness, patience, and steadfast support for both my mother and our family never went unnoticed.When it ultimately became time to transition my mother to a community closer to our family, Milisa was there every step of the way. She helped make one of the most difficult decisions our family has faced feel a little less overwhelming, and I will always be grateful for the care, professionalism, and compassion she showed us.<br>One of the moments that will stay with me forever was my mother's last day at Brightview. What could have been a difficult and emotional goodbye became a beautiful reminder of the relationships she had built over more than five years. Staff members came to wish her well, offer hugs, and make sure she left feeling loved and supported. She shared one final lunch with friends before we departed, and although it was bittersweet, the warmth everyone showed made us smile through the tears.<br>Looking back over more than five years, what made Brightview special wasn't the building—it was the people, and our family will always be grateful.

We had such a wonderful time at Brightview Woodburn's Christmas in July celebration! The event was so much fun, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made everyone feel right at home.<br><br>A special thank you to Latasha, who truly cares about the residents and goes above and beyond to make every event memorable. Her kindness and dedication are evident in everything she does.<br><br>As a mobile notary, I often meet families who are navigating important life transitions. It's reassuring to know there's a community like Brightview Woodburn that I can confidently recommend.
