I am always cautious about leaving reviews for one reason or another and especially when it comes to elderly care. However, I am now ready to do so. My aunt, who is more like a grandmother, has been living here at Brighton Gardens assisted living for about one year and one half and overall, I am pleased. If I had to find something to take a star away for, it would be housekeeping. Housekeeping is one of those categories that I keep a mindful watch one and out of a scale of 1 to 10, it gets a 6 right now. However, the residence is undergoing renovation and it is understandable why some areas may not be as pristine. On a very positive note, the staff are lovely. My aunt is always happy, they have learned "her rhythm" and how she prefers to navigate her day, which is conducive to her well being. The activities coordinator, Lynn and and her team, really do a nice job of trying to keep the activities schedule full for the week. She is upbeat, always smiling, endearing towards the residents and genuinely appears to love what she does! The care team staff are pleasant and I have found, that there is not a great turnover, which is very important for more reasons than one. Mrs. Belinda Barnum, the Executive Director, is always on premise and is always ready, willing and able to listen to and address any concern--no matter how small it may or may not be. Mr. Petkovic, the general manager also returns calls and takes his position very seriously. Brighton Gardens is an assisted living residence that strives to deliver quality food, stimulating activities, and consistent medical management. I very much appreciate the wellness phone call updates I receive regarding her mental and physical status. We are happy my beloved aunt has settled in and is thriving. Finally, we are also excited and pleased about the new renovations that have been started and will be completed in 2026! Thank you to Mrs. Belinda Barnum for always being attentive to my questions and concerns and to the staff who provide all the care. We are grateful to you and the work you do at Brighton Gardens at Stratford Court!

Our mom has been here for 5 years and we couldn’t be happier. The activities coordinators, Lynn and Curtis, knock it out of the park. The Executive Director, Belinda, not only oversees but literally gets involved at every level. The chef, Brian, is creative and cares deeply about his product. We feel so good with our decision. Mom is well cared for, safe and very happy.

I want to thank every single person who made my transition from Independent Living to Assisted Living (Brighton Gardens) comforting, listening to my concerns, and easy going. You are all; and I truly mean all! Wonderful people! Thank you! I especially want to thank Executive Director PJ Petkovic and Associate Executive Director Belinda Barnum. As we age, change is not as easy as used to be when we were much younger. But, because of their kindness and care, I did not feel all alone in the change. From my heart to your hearts, thank you!

I can only rate this place based on when I visited with my husband and our son. We are exploring potential places for my father who is dealing with dementia. My rating is based on: 1. One of the residents shared they sometimes hit them - I know to take that with a grain of salt considering they are in memory care, but that is the LAST thing a family member hopes to hear in these places. 2. The room we were shown had the blinds drawn so I wanted to open them to see what the view is like - well, it’s full of mold. That’s what it’s like. The window panes had BLACK. MOLD. 3. When I asked the director how much time they get outside, she said “well, when you come, you can take them outside.” Meaning they don’t see a drop of fresh air unless they have someone who comes to see them and take them outside. The air smells musty and honestly, my heart broke for the residents there. The independent living and assisted living however, seems much more decent. The memory care is tucked away in the back of the building.. as if to keep the patients out of sight.

Our family had an excellent experience at Brighton Gardens... both in assisted living and Reminiscence. Our mother was treated with dignity and care as she deteriorated. The staff is wonderful.
