My extremely sincere comments go out to the entire staff at Briarcliff Manor, specifically the 2nd floor skilled Nursing unit.<br>My 99 year old mother peacefully and well cared for passed away last week there. She was transferred there 4 months ago after falling and breaking her femur. Surgery and healing were not in her future due to her age and deteriorating status. She has been significantly hearing impaired since she was 55 so communication could have been an issue. It wasn't most of the time. Her caregivers went out of their way to communicate thru written words or her lip reading. I have such regard for the entire staff, housekeeping, laundry, kitchen, nurses, care coordinators (Carla) floor cleaners, front desk, activities staff. billing (Samantha) and even the other patients. V became a huge support as well as Danielle who championed my mothers comfort along with the other nurses. So many other patients became my mental health support as they coveted petting my Shih tzu Cocoa and gave me unintended support at this highly emotional time. I know finding a place for a loved one is not easy but I was very lucky to have landed here.

Watch out that they do not overfeed and cause your family member to gain too much weight, somehow falls in bathroom, with a staff member there. Breaks hip, has major surgery and dies 6 weeks later.<br><br>**My reply to Briarcliffe owner**<br>I do not need your prayers. You are the one who needs them.

I wanted to thank you for making my mom's last few years so comfortable. She never really made the transition from leaving her home which made it very difficult for my brother and I, but knowing she was getting such good, compassionate care helped us make peace with having to move her. Even when she was confused about her situation, she always mentioned that her "caregivers" were very nice. She had wonderful care in the Cottage and also in the Manor which is where she passed. This facility is very clean and the staff are so kind. Residents are well taken care of and have plenty of activities to keep them engaged.

My Mom has been living at Briarcliffe Gardens for over 3 years. She moved in on Valentine’s Day and COVID hit in March! It was an awful time for everyone, especially in the beginning when we really didn’t know what was what and people in nursing homes were dying. Through it all, the staff kept us informed and we connected via FaceTime. This difficult time was met with everyone pulling together, the staff brave enough, committed enough to come to work every day and care for our most vulnerable. That is who they are.<br>Fortunately, things have lightened considerably, life is relatively back to normal and still, the same people come to work, think up ways to entertain, engage and honor their residents. I could not be more pleased with the care, genuine care my Mom receives. I cannot say the relief I feel knowing she is in good hands. I can sleep at night. I would not hesitate to recommend Briarcliffe to anyone with the need.
