This place and their sister facility, Creekside, will deny your loved ones care for financial reasons without consulting or asking if you are able to cover the expenses. My insurance plan covered 50% of my rehabilitation cost or what would have been 300 dollars a day. But rather than ask if we could cover the cost, a corporate pig chose to outright deny us, even though we could easily cover the charges. Seems they're only interested in that sweet medicare money, run from this place. They showed their colours that day for certain. Furthermore, it seems based on previous reviews, I dodged a bad one. Change your practices and don't judge a book by its cover, you denied someone worth 6 figures.

I was worried about my father being sent here after reading some of these reviews. My father came to birchwood for therapy and wound care. He has bed sores, a nephrostomy, and not one but TWO ostomys., so I was especially concerned after reading these reviews. I’m happy to say that I did not share the same negative experiences. His wounds are healing well, my dad always has a bag on each ostomy, as well as his nephrostomy, and always clean. We met with the wound care team and they actually thought us how to manage his ostomys and wounds when we go home. Any concerns I’ve had, they were dealt with right away by nursing staff. They have vision, dental and podiatry that comes in, pain management, so dad was able to get his glasses fixed that we’ve been needing to do before ending up in the hospital. The facility also arranged all dads appointments with his surgeon, they get him there and back and update me on any and all changes. It would benefit all to give people grace, don’t walk in looking to find something negative, you’ll miss the all the good that’s in front of you.

If I could leave ZERO I would. THINK TWICE before trusting your loved ones here. have visited this facility regularly over several months to see a family member and have serious concerns about resident care and cleanliness. Call lights frequently go unanswered for extended periods, and staff responses can be dismissive when concerns are raised. The environment is often unsanitary. I have walked into a resident's room to find soiled linens and feces present. The resident requires an ostomy bag for medical reasons, yet has been left without one for hours due to lack of supplies, resulting in fecal contamination and serious infection risk. These concerns have been raised internally without meaningful improvement. Families deserve transparency, and residents deserve safe, dignified care.

“Exceptional Care and Teamwork!” I can’t say enough good things about this building. The staff truly care about the residents and go above and beyond every single day. The teamwork here is unmatched — everyone from nursing to therapy to administration works together to make sure residents feel valued, comfortable, and cared for. The building is always clean, welcoming, and full of positive energy. You can tell the employees love what they do, and that makes all the difference. Highly recommend this facility for anyone looking for quality care and genuine compassion.

Wow.. Very impressed with the management team. Very exspirienced in LTC setting 36 years in Sarasota. Now it's my mom how the emotion are because you know the ins and outs..But the admin,DON, SS and even medical records show how much they care. I know it's not easy old building changes take time but the management team really impresses me...Awesome admin. He will make a real difference he gets out of his office and gets hands dirty folks...Cuddos...
