If you care about your loved one, do not consider this facility to place her/him for long term or short term care. You see, we are from El Paso Texas (about 600 miles from the DFW area). My Wife was comatose for approximately 3 months in El Paso Texas with a n<br>Neurological Crisis. I have 3 younger brothers who live in the DFW area and suggested to bring her into The DFW. They suggested that the area is better equipped with better medical providers and facilities. Upon their request(I spent a considerably amount of money to fly her to Plano Baylor Scott & White Hospital). Furthermore after approximately 1 month, my wifes' recovery was extraordinary. The Dr's, nursing, respiratory...... staff were all extordinary in her recovery. Then came to transfer her to This shitty facility for her short term stay for her physical therapy recovery. Upon 3 days of her stay ( while I was staying in her room 24/7 with her) I observed the worse medical care that she was receiving. Every night, there was a patient across the room from her yelling( " I need help getting to the bathroom. Hello.Help me....Help me....") On another occasion, I called the nursing staff to change my wife<br>s' diaper because she was soiled ( this was at approximately 11:30 pm, during the night shift ). After 30 minutes, I ended up changing her diaper, which was full of feces. Afterwards, it took approximately an hour for the CNA to get to the the room. I asked her why it took so long for her to get to my wife??, and she said she was the only CNA for the day. She stated, she was the only CNA for the entire facility ( for both the bottom floor and top floor). Before that occurred, I asked the nurse to change her diaper and she said, " I'm busy. The CNA will come". Unfortunately, my wife got to the facity on a Wednesday. On Thursday I could see that she was being neglected during the nighttime, due to short staffing. On Friday, I could see that my wife was falling into a urinary tract infection, because the urine in her Foley catheter bag was getting darker and was emanating an strong urine odor. When I requested the nursing staff to ask the Dr for a urine culture for testing. She stated that it would take several days. On Sunday morning at approximately 3:00am, my wife vomitted on herself. I ran out the room to make notice to the nursing staff, and I observed both nurses on there cell phone at the nursing station. After helping the staff clean my wife up, I decided to tell the nurse to call 911 to trasfet her to Baylor Scott & White Hospitall Grapevine. During her stay at the hospital, my wife was treated for a UTI(urinary tract infection) and dehydration. Once my wife was discharged from the hospital, i decided to bring her home to my bothers house located in the Wautaga area. This incident at Bear Creek occurred from May 5th through May 11th. I apologize for the lengthy review, but I felt it to be necessary, because this facility or other facilities who provide Long Term Care(LTAC) do not care about your loved one. My message is, that if you love your loved one or have the time or have the funds to take care of her/him yourself, please do so, because no one else will provide the love and care that will give them. My wife was dischrged from the hospital on May 23nd and until now June 28th, my brother and I have provided the much needed care for her at home. Furtheremore, my brother and I are planning to return home to El Paso Texas after the 4th of July weekend.
