My mother stayed at baylor scott and white continuing care in temple texas for rehab after a hospital stay. I picked her up on the day of discharge and she was more sick than she was when she went to the hospital. She ended up in the ER at 80 yrs old the same date she was discharged from the facility. She should not have been discharged at all. No one called me the day before her discharge to inform me she was running a fever. She was pale and very weak. She could barely get in the car and when the nurse was putting her in the car, she had extreme diarrhea that leaked through her pants. They did not even offer to take her back inside so we could clean her up. We had all the means to be able to change her and clean her up, yet they did not offer to go back inside. They just shoved her into the seat and it was a 20 minute drive home for her to sit in fecal matter. When we got home she vomitted everywhere and i called 911 due to her lethargic demeanor. When she got checked out by the ER after being picked up via ambulance, she had a severe UTI, kidney infection, AND was sepsis when she was admitted to the ER.The fact that my 80 yr old mother ended up back in the ER and hospital more sick the exact day she was discharged from this place verses when she arrived, is beyond ridiculous. Our health facilities are a freaking JOKE. They are supposed to CARE FOR THE HEALTH OF A HUMAN BEING. They just collect the insurance payments and send people one their way. I just hope that one day when they get to a certain age in their life that they receive the exact care my mother did, lets just hope that whatever place it is doesn't end up killing them. There is no point in reporting to HHS as they are just as big of a joke as the health care system. They do not care for the health and care of people. You are just a number or a toe tag. Honestly I wish the reviews could be at a negative star because they dont deserve the one you have to leave.

My father inlaw was transferred here after Christmas for long term care due to infection. He did not beat his illness and passed on while at the CCH. The staff always were helpful, communicated openly, and truly gave him his best chance to beat it. I have been around these facilities for over 20 years and can say confidently I would rather be here then any of them in the area.

It’s a really good place. They probably get a bad rap due to the elderly patients, but I got to see, first hand, the work these caregivers perform. My mother broke her hip and spent two weeks here. Many wonderful nurses cared for my mom during her stay. Names that stood out, and went out of their way to help, are Claudia, Shannon, and the amazing women that runs the Art & Crafts room. I’m sure there were others that made mom feel safe and secure. Thank you. The only negative I can comment on is the lack of communication between the administration and the patient. I had questions that went unanswered.

The facility took very good care of my mom but I'm very disappointed by the admission on a Friday of Labor Day weekend. She was there for physical therapy however they aren't there on the weekends or holidays so my mom spent 3 days of her stay laying in bed doing nothing. They mostly did bedside therapy, once it started, but not much else. I understand that my mom is a large woman but they knew that when they accepted her. They also knew she needed PT for walking however it didn't really happen 😔
