I made the tough decision to put my dad in a care facility because his health was declining and he was beyond my capabilities to care for. He was here for just over a year and they were great with him. He could be hard to handle sometimes because he was stubborn and ornery. but they had compassion and patience for my dad every single day. I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of him at the end and for his time here in the facility. It was a hard time for me as he was passing and I'm my dads daughter and once or twice I was emotional and more attitude then called for and I appologize for that. I'm grateful for all of the care staff on the 2nd floor and the entire building for everything they did for him and me. Thank you.

A very close friend of the family has been at this facility a good amount of time. I can assuredly give them a five-star review not only on their facility staff, but cleanliness along with their business development Jennifer Davis quickly went the extra mile getting them additional services that assisted within his quality of life. So very thankful for the all who serve this building!

We are blessed to have our Mother, Geraldine Beson, at Bay County Medical Care Facility Nursing Home in Essexville , MI! The list of people that work at BCMCF and support the residents and their families is extensive. Our family thanks BCMCF from the bottom of our hearts! They do all this work, and allow us to come in and be her loving children! They are giving her a very long life! There are many diligent and caring chiefs (CEO, CNO, CFO...) and staff that keep "Mom's home," a loving and safe place to be. It allows us to be her children! *Receptionists: Issebella, Alecia, Lydia, Hannah, Deb, Selena, Amanda, it ALL starts with your friendly and caring greeting. You are BCMCFs! The CEO, Kyle Weidman's door is always open. He is friendly and outwardly asking how things are going. Sarah Griffor, the CNO, has her finger on the pulse and keeps the nursing standard very high. Jackie McCarthy, the CFO, keeps the facility running well and watches out for Mom too! It is reassuring to have all these caring people at the front end. *Chefs & Cooks in the Kitchen: Rocky and Sharon, Tiffany and Lori. You are dedicated and talented chefs and kitchen staff! You offer so many options! *Amazing Skilled Nurses: Shannon, Becca, Lisa, Jim, Mike, Becky, Lucil, and so many more ... Christina & Chris, you keep an eye on her, her oxygen, blood sugars, medicines, energy. You call with any change in orders from the doctor, keeping me updated. You listen to my cares and concerns for our Mother and you advocate for her as well. You are caring and meticulous! You keep her alive and kicking! Thank you for every day that you care for her and all the others who don't have strong family advocates or are unable to be there in person. You are people of integrity, and you are kind in dealing with our Mom and us! *Director of Activities, Cheylo Linzner, and her cheerful, encouraging, and loving, Activity Staff, Kendra, Lori, Sara, Brooke, Naomi, Mel, Tammy, and Pam, keep Mom and others alive and give them a reason to get up in the morning and to live another day! You are the reason that she doesn't go back to her room after lunch and get in bed and sleep all day. Puzzles, bingo, playing cards, talking to people, movies, styling her hair and painting her nails, she loves it all! You are caring and attentive staff! *Maintenance Staff: You are all so hard working and eager to please the residents and their families! Whether it's hanging a picture, moving the "hot air balloon" closer to her outside window, or finding an extension cord for my amplifier. *COMPASSIONATE and LOVING CNA’s: We love you all, Angela, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Kiera, so many others, two at a time, you are the heart and soul of BCMCF! Your work is the most unseen, less desirable to most, most back breaking, and ... THE MOST REWARDING! You are beautiful people who love on our Mother and care for her with dignity, making her feel safe and with her dignity intact. *Restorative Care: Jennifer Ronk and her dedicated team, Kimmy, Kim, and Tina, keep Mom moving, keeping that delicate balance of when she wants to and when she doesn't. Helping Mom get her steps will help her achieve her goal of living to 100! She loves batting the balloon with the pool noodle which motivates her to move her arms that are ridden with arthritis. *Social Worker, Jodi Dufort, you make sure that Mom is happy and loving life, and that she has everything she needs. You are a very good listener and observer. Your profession is very respected and often time overlooked! Mental health is of utmost importance! *Ward Clerk, Holly Harvey, professionally and cheerfully schedules all Mom's medical appts and transportation, and coordinate and communicate all the appts with me. “May God bless each of you in his abundance each and every day! May you know you are doing a beautiful job caring for our Mother in such beautiful ways that we could never do without you! Thank you! May Jesus pour his grace upon you and may he give you all that you need! We ask this in Your holy and precious name. Amen.”

My aunt is a resident of this place. She feels like it's her home. She loves the staff & has expressed dismay with only 1 short live member in her near year here. They listen to the residents & try to help make it feel inviting, my aunt loves the food. The choices are very good with most items tasting like true home made food. Keep of the good job.

I'm here for a long time rehabilitation I had a serious operation that put me back to being like a baby starting over so I have to learn how to walk I have to learn how to do everything all over again and they're very caring and very attentive my only con would be that they lost two very very nice t-shirts of mine from Sunshine sisters tie dyes that say be kind and they haven't offered me any compensation for them and that's very very upsetting they were kind of costly shirts but other than that everything else is going really really well. I would just feel better if they would compensate me for those missing shirts The staff is very caring from the nurses to the AIDS to the janitorial staff haven't met too many of the doctors here yet so I can't really comment on that..
