If I could give Aviata at North Fort Myers zero stars, I would. My mother was transferred here from the hospital after surgery for what was supposed to be rehabilitation. She never even unpacked her belongings because within minutes of arriving, we knew she could not stay. I have never been so shocked by the condition of a healthcare facility. The building appeared dirty, poorly maintained, and completely lacking the atmosphere you would expect for vulnerable patients recovering from surgery. Several staff members stood around appearing disengaged while patients clearly needed assistance. The nurse we were able to locate was sitting on his phone watching videos instead of attending to patients. Residents were left sitting in common areas, and the overall environment felt chaotic, neglected, and completely lacking in urgency or compassion. The most disturbing part was what happened when my mother—who was fully alert, oriented, and capable of making her own medical decisions—said she wanted to leave immediately. Instead of respecting her wishes, staff refused to unlock the doors until they contacted a supervisor. We ultimately had to insist that they let her leave. No competent patient or family should have to argue simply to leave a facility they believe is unsafe. Even the medical transport driver quietly suggested that we should try to have her transferred elsewhere before we had even entered the building. After seeing the conditions firsthand, we understood exactly why. We left because there was no possibility we were entrusting my mother’s recovery to this facility. If you are considering Aviata at North Fort Myers for someone you love, please visit in person before agreeing to admission. Seeing it with your own eyes may change your decision in a matter of minutes. Our loved ones deserve dignity, attentive care, and a safe place to heal. Based on what we personally witnessed, we found none of those things here.

The worst nursing facility I’ve ever dealt with, my mom fell several times at this place. The final fall was during the day on 05/15 at approximately 1 o’clock in the afternoon my mom who by the way has Parkinson’s according to them slid out of her wheelchair! Which boggles my mind to this day, my mom is practically total assist. My mother was rushed to the hospital and suffered a Right Femoral Neck Fracture which needed emergency surgery at 78 years old. My poor mother has suffered a lot, my family has suffered a lot this is mentally drainful not just for my mom, but my whole family. I would never ever recommend this place.

I'm so glad I choose the Aviata to give my husband physical therapy after he had a heart issue. The administration has been very helpful in guiding us on how the facility works. The care team has been professional on not only his physical needs but his overall needs. Most importantly they listened to his goals . The nurses have been very attentive to his needs. And they truly care for the patient.

They are great at listening to our needs and helping us with our mom’s goals! The rest of the staff so many to name have been fantastic, friendly and professional! We thank you for caring for our most important person, MOM! This process has not been easy but with this crew you will be in good hands! Many thanks for on going care!
