My boyfriend and I go see his mom almost everyday here and from what I can tell, the staff are incredibly rude to the guests, me and my boyfriend included. They will lie and say that he and I stay past visiting hours when we actually leave around 6 pm. They have extremely rude attitudes towards a few residents there and they are always on their phones and gossiping and not doing something while on the clock. I’m sorry to say this but this place should be shut down and place the residents in other nursing homes with better staff. Either that or fire all the staff with strong mean attitudes and have new people and interview them with a lie detector. I’m just saying. If they wanna have attitudes they can be fired and look for a job as a cashier. Sorry not sorry.

Wonderful facility! Currently in the process of remodeling the building, that is turning out beautifully. The respiratory staff have added some new great staff and have new policies and standards of care and they are eager to grow. When I came to this facility I was worried about the bad reputation I had heard so much about but it is not at all true. This facility cares more about their patients than the previous facility I was at in Botetourt, where they only cared about getting more ventilator patients to increase their profit no matter the unsafe ratios that they lie about on their flyers.

Adaptive Rehabilitation (formerly Reliant Rehabilitation of Roanoke) and Accordius Of Roanoke (previously Avante). ABOVE & BEYOND CARE AND REHABILITATION Adaptive Rehabilitation has an awesome staff at Accordius of Roanoke! And I would like to take a moment to express my thankfulness and admiration towards this staff. After having 12 surgeries in a short period of time, including extensive arterial surgeries, a broken hip surgery, and a below the knee leg amputation, I was in a sad state. Doctors had told my family that I would die soon, or would be confined to a nursing facility for the rest of my life. Six months of 2018 I don't even remember! This includes breaking a hip at Radford Rehabilitation. A helicopter flight from Roanoke Memorial Hospital to the University of Virginia Medical Center in the middle of the night! Stays at several different nursing homes and hospitals, including Roanoke Memorial (intensive care), University of Virginia (intensive care), Radford Nursing and Rehab., Wytheville Hospital, Carrington Nursing Home in Rural Retreat, and Accordius of Roanoke (formerly Avante). The fine young Ladies at Accordius of Roanoke/Adaptive Rehabilitation, must have saw something in me that I couldn't at the time. They started working with me, first of all just to gain my confidence, and trust in them as friends. Remember at this time I was not in my right mind, to say the very least. Then while continuing to be my friends and confidants, they expertly worked with me on Physical Therapy, Social Interaction, and Confidence Building (Rachel), Occupational Therapy along with any everything else I needed! (Stacey), and SLP (speech language pathologist), Along with Nutrition, Memory Skills, and many other necessary social and interpersonal skills, (Marissa). They worked together as one team, under Stacey's supervision (Rehabilitation Program Manager), to bring me back, mentally and physically to be the best that I could be!!! They ALL had read my charts, and knew what I had been through. They knew how to motivate me, through kindness, understanding, and compassion. Believe me, their job is not easy. They are so much more than Therapists, and they gladly accepted those responsibilities, without complaint! They went so far beyond their job titles to do anything and everything it took to achieve their and their patients’ goals, and bring their patients to the very best outcomes possible. These are very intelligent people, 2 have Masters Degrees and 1 Doctorate!!! I have absolutely no doubt they could all have PhD's if they so chose to do so. I am a very observant person, and always have been. I watched as these ladies worked with each person and their needs, both physically and mentally, to fully enhance the patient’s growth. They DID NOT use the cookie cutter approach, even though they could have, and been perfectly accepted by medical standards. They chose to get to know each and every patient, and then form a strategy based on the needs and desires of the patient. All three were very personable, and easy to interact with. I cannot find any area that they lacked in! While I was sceptical of the Gym at first, I grew to love being around these great ladies! If you're looking for the very best and most advanced Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and SLP (speech language pathology), I would very highly recommend this group!

Do not send anyone you care about to this facility, especially if they are on a ventilator. Staff failed to see that my cousin was fed, did not monitor fluid intake and output, and sent her to the hospital without sending any documentation. Care given the patients can scarcely be called care -- the staff could not be bothered to contact us when they sent my cousin to the hospital.
