I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

From the very beginning, I saw things that deeply concerned me. During my tour, I witnessed an elderly woman left crying by herself with no staff helping her, and another resident standing in an unsafe position without anyone nearby to assist. I should have trusted my instincts. However the hospital was pushing me to pick a place because they needed to discharge her.

When my mother was admitted, I was told to stay away while they “adjusted” her medication. A nurse later agreed that her medication wasn’t right, which only added to my concerns. The first time she was sent to the hospital, she had grass stains all over her white pants as is she was dragged but I have no explanation for how that happened.

The following weekend, while I was away, my mother fell three times in less than 48 hours. After the third fall, an EMT called me personally—not the facility—to tell me that, in his opinion, it was in my mother’s best interest to get her out of there immediately.

Those falls resulted in bilateral brain bleeds, and she had to get staples in her head. She spent weeks in the hospital and, tragically, she never walked again. She was never the same after her stay there.

To make matters worse, when I finally received my mother’s belongings, her clothes had been left in sealed plastic bags long enough to become moldy.

This was one of the most heartbreaking experiences of my life. Based on what happened to my mother, I cannot recommend this facility to anyone. I hope no other family has to endure what ours did
