This review is for the staff at Brighton Gardens of Middletown who made my mother's stay there an absolute pleasure. The staff genuinely cares about the residents that live there, and it shows in their mannerism and overall service they provide. From the first time me and my wife toured the facility we noticed how clean it was and you could tell who the staff were by their smiling faces. Everyone was so eager to help make my mother's experience there a pleasant and memorable one. My mother made loads of friends there who she enjoys talking to and playing bingo and poker with. She definitely came out of her shell, and it was really nice to witness. My hats off to Brighton Gardens amazing physical therapy team. They actively sought out and did everything they could to get my mother back on her feet again. I know how stubborn my mother can be, so she obviously trusted them enough to try and do the exercises they wanted her to do. We are grateful for that. Brighton Gardens of Middletown has an awesome staff with a huge loving and caring heart that somehow, they all seem to share.

Thanks again for taking such great care of my mother.

The Bonner Family

There are moments in life that you hope you’ll never have to face, and moving your parent into assisted living is one of them. It’s emotional, overwhelming, and filled with uncertainty. From the very beginning, the team at Brighton Gardens took so much of that weight off my shoulders, and for that, I will be forever grateful.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kelly and Julie in Sales. They walked beside me every step of the way through one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. They answered countless questions, patiently guided me through every detail, and never once made me feel like I was just another family going through the process. Their kindness, patience, and genuine compassion helped calm my fears, and I honestly don’t know how I would have gotten through this without them.

Then I met Randie, the Assisted Living Coordinator, and within minutes I knew my mom was exactly where she needed to be. Watching Randie interact with my mom was something I’ll never forget. She spoke to her with such warmth, love, and respect, as if they had known each other for years instead of just meeting. She has an incredible gift for making people feel seen, valued, and safe, and as a daughter, that meant absolutely everything to me.

I also have to recognize Phil in Maintenance, because he is one of those people who quietly makes a huge difference. He never waits to be asked for help. Somehow he always notices when someone needs assistance and is already there with a helping hand. It’s the little things that often mean the most, and Phil’s kindness, attentiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond have touched our family more than he probably realizes.

And then there’s Joanie at the front desk. She became my constant during this journey. Every single time I walked through those doors, she greeted me with the warmest smile and the kindest heart. Whether I had a question, needed directions, or simply needed to see a friendly face after an emotional day, Joanie was always there. She is the perfect first impression of Brighton Gardens because she truly represents the love and care that fills this community.

What has impressed me just as much is that these individuals are not the exception, they’re the standard. Everywhere I turn, the staff are smiling, cheerful, compassionate, and willing to do more than anyone expects. It doesn’t feel like people are simply doing their jobs. It feels like they genuinely care about every resident and every family who walks through those doors.

The community itself is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are lovely, the atmosphere is peaceful, and everything is thoughtfully maintained. But the true beauty of Brighton Gardens isn’t the building, it’s the people inside it.

To everyone at Brighton Gardens: thank you. Thank you for treating my mom with such kindness, dignity, and compassion. Thank you for making one of the hardest chapters of my life feel a little less frightening. As a daughter, there is no greater comfort than knowing your loved one is surrounded by people who truly care.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

edited to add: We love Mike in Maintenance, too!

When we first brought our sister to this facility, it was so nice and homey feeling. The dining room was set like a restaurant. Linen table cloths, clean and neat. In the last few months, it seems to have gone downhill. There are no more table cloths, and when we first got there there were 2 seatings for meals, which was great because not everyone wants to eat early. Now they cram all the residents at one time, which is a safety hazard for people with walkers, wheelchairs and balance issues. Also, we were told when we first interviewed that they will never make anyone leave if they can’t afford to stay. We were told that Medicaid would kick in once any funds ran out. We came to find out that is not the case, and that is one of the reasons we actually decided to go there, so we wouldn’t have to move my sister in the event that happened. There were a few other issues regarding a potential allergy to food that was told several times to management, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears because the thing she was allergic to was given to her so who is paying attention? Apparently not the dining staff. The aides are all amazing, we love every one of them. I don’t normally do reviews, but I felt that this needed to be addressed. There needs to be more stringent accountability, especially when dealing with the elderly who can’t care for themselves and need an advocate to look out for them.
