Though I was confident on every level that moving my dad to a memory care facility was the right decision, it was the worst day of my life. However, I was eventually comforted by knowing we selected the right home-away-from-home Dad deserved. It started with the education. Whether we chose Hope Springs (Bader at the time) or elsewhere, the staff was a wealth of knowledge. From why carpeted floors are imperative to knowing what the staff-to-resident ratio should be to official programming empowered us to ask the right questions and ultimately choose the best care for our family's superhero. Seeing the good in bad: — Our Big John always thrived on interacting with people. Bam! New friends, who we now consider family. New faces for John to ask "How are you doing?" (really wanting to know), give a wink to, tell "I love you" "You're pretty," and even pull a prank on. — Our family was able to share our husband/dad/grandpa with more people. The heart and soul of John's personality was obvious to the caregivers, staff, residents and other families at HS. — Our family was treated with kindness, respect and patience, as we navigated unfamiliar territory (which was always changing). — A team of people who understood him and what he was going through. — A group of professionals who not only catered to his needs, but also loved him (I am 100% certain) like their own father. I mean, he is easy to love. — He was treated with the grace and dignity he deserved. — Through programming and intimate conversations, we were educated and guided through this process with knowledge, compassion, hand-holding, hugs and prayers. Though Dad didn't really participate, our family and the other residents enjoyed stellar programming and activities. There's just one thing I would change: I would love to see a culture where the caregivers receive the same kindness, support, and compassion they extend to the residents.

Hope Springs Memory Care restored my faith , renewed my weary heart, and allowed me to finally trust someone else to help care for my sweet Dad. By the time I found it we had already been through another very large multi-care facility. Hope Springs is small enough to be focused on Memory Care, the staff is trained JUST for dementia patients. It made a HUGE difference for my Dad. The changes in him were apparent after only 2 days. Hope Springs is structured completely differently than any Memory Care facility in the DFW area, and I know because I looked at almost every one of them. They keep the rhythms of a person with dementia in mind the entire day & night. It has a secure outdoor back yard for sunshine. In fact the whole building is light filled, not a dimly lit corridor in the whole place! They have scheduled activities that they actually do, not just say they do like the previous one my Dad was in. The food is homemade & cooked in the kitchen onsite w/ fresh ingredients. But THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is the staff. I have laughed with them, cried with them , and consider them each my family. Miraval, Elizabeth ,Zee, Beverly, Elayna , and the rest of my Dads caregivers made my Dad feel loved & comfortable. He smiled all the time. He was treated with respect & dignity. I could not be more grateful to each & everyone of them.

Small but Mighty! I've been in Long Term Care management for 25+ years and I have never encountered a more genuine or compassionate team of individuals. Our residents truly become family when they live with us at Hope Springs Memory Care.

Three years ago, my brother and I made one of our best decisions ever when we moved our mother to Hope Springs Memory care. We liked that it was a smaller, more personalized facility that serves about 25 residents, and it was reasonably priced. The staff lead residents through a daily routine of exercise, crafts, and other activities. They have a little outdoor walking track! They host frequent special activities, birthday parties, and celebrations for residents and families. The staff is compassionate and caring and communicated frequently with us. I knew we'd made the right decision, but when my mother began to decline and ultimately passed away, I was amazed by the care and supportive concern of the staff. Months before my mom passed, an activities director had the idea of celebrating her birthday with a nurse-themed party since Mom had been an RN. This memory is a comfort to me now, thanks to the staff at Hope Springs.
