Hello. My sister-in-law has been living at The Arbors in West Jefferson for almost a year. It has been an adjustment for her but I have been very pleased with her care and staff I have spoken with in these several months. She recently was admitted into hospital and passed there. It was sudden and difficult with complicated circumstances. The staff at the nursing facility have been exceptional. My husband and I wish gratitude to go to nurses, Virginia, Dee Dee, others, manager of her hall, nursing assistants who attended to her, Sarah and Ashley the social workers who have been helping me with any of my concerns my sister in law had and mine. Thank you deeply for all your care. God’s infinite blessings. I definitely enjoyed meeting Sarah and Bobbie, few others on my recent visit. Sincerely, Tina and John Essex.

My mother was here for about 3 months, and actually spent more time at OSU than she did here. The care here was horrible. My mother was on the brink of dying due to the care here, before we made the decision to not allow them to send her back here. Most days my mom seemed very out of it, could barely speak, and I had witnessed my mom sit in her diaper so long that it was leaking onto the floor while sitting in her wheel chair. Then it took about 30 mins for someone to come check on her and get her changed. On top of the lack of care, the family had let the facility know that we would be taking care of her laundry. I made 5 different signs and posted them around her side of the room and despite these signs her clothes still went missing and were never returned. Instead we ended up with other people's clothes. This place is either highly under staffed or just has staff that dont care about the patients. I would highly suggest to anyone considering sending a loved one here to rethink that decision. And lastly as soon as you walked through the front doors you were hit with a pungent smell of urine. I understand that it can happen, but this was everytime I visited my mother. I dreaded having to walk into this place and tried to take my mom outside as much as possible just to get some fresh air. Your loved one will decline in health rather than actually get better.

I just want to say; I am still upset someone stole my mother's black blanket. She was there just a few weeks and passed away about a month later. I walked in one day and some red blanket was on her bed. Some of the staff did seem concerned but no on acted on it. This blanket was in the family for a long time and she slept with it everyday for 30 years. What I would give to have it now. Don't know why I didn't check the cameras.

Smells like pee and they violated HIPAA law by giving out personal information on medical history of my family without their permission or knowledge
