Amberwood Manor is a senior living community in New Philadelphia, Ohio offering Skilled Nursing / Long Term Care. Amenities include Restaurant style Dining Room, Gathering / Activity Spaces and Social Activities. Families rate it 4.2 out of 5 across 35 reviews.
Amberwood Manor is a 48-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility in New Philadelphia, Ohio. The community serves residents requiring rehabilitation, dementia care, and ongoing medical support.
Families consistently praise the nursing and nursing assistant staff, often naming specific caregivers for their attentiveness and compassionate approach. One returning resident noted that "the staff made me feel welcome, like I was coming home." Families highlight the clean, homelike environment, personalized attention to dietary preferences and activities, and responsiveness from management. Therapy services and interdisciplinary care planning receive particular mention. However, some families report gaps in communication between shifts and limited physician availability (noted as Friday afternoons only in one account), as well as occasional maintenance delays.
One serious care concern appears in a one-star review alleging neglect; this contrasts sharply with the majority of five-star accounts praising staff dedication and visible resident improvement. The 4.2-star rating reflects this split, with 35 total reviews. Prospective families may want to ask directly about staffing ratios, communication protocols, and doctor visit schedules during their visit.

When I had a recent health crisis and needed to go to a skilled nursing facility, there was no question in my mind where I wanted to be — I specifically asked for Amberwood Manor by name. I had been a resident here before, and the care I received was so good that I knew I wanted to come back. From the very first day I returned, the staff made me feel welcome, like I was coming home. Many of the nurses and aides remembered me and greeted me with smiles and warm hugs. That meant more to me than they’ll ever know. The care here is excellent. They are gentle, attentive, truly listen to what you need. The therapy team worked hard with me every day to help me get stronger, and the nurses made sure I was comfortable and well cared for at all times. The food is good, my room is clean, and I feel safe here. I’m so thankful I was able to return to Amberwood Manor. If you or your loved one needs skilled nursing care, I can honestly say this is a wonderful place. They treat you with dignity and kindness, and that makes all the difference. Thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of me — not just once, but twice!

Recently had a dear friend admitted to Amberwood Manor, she received excellent personalized care. Staff were very patient, caring and made her feel welcome upon admission. They provided activities that kept her engaged and ensured that she felt at "home." Staff made sure that her dietary needs were taken into consideration and her favorite snacks her offered. The facility was clean and odor free. Staff treated her like family. Amberwood Manor is highly recommended by her family and mine. Thank you for care! No
