My mom has been at Belmont for two months and loves everything about it. The caregivers are so kind and attentive and she really enjoys the food. She has so many opportunities to socialize and take part in activities and has made friends. Additionally, the facility and her room are really clean. Most of all, she is safe and happy. I am thrilled with the level of care she receives each day and could not ask for more.

Belmont Village Sabre Springs does some things very well. Their care team is excellent. The Circle of Friends program for individuals with mid to moderate dementia is a superb program. There are however many residents who have some level of dementia who choose not to enroll in the program. Those resident with dementia that do not need a secure unit are in apartments in the same hallways with residents who are fully cognizant as well as residents with dementia can attend activities they choose to. This facility is heavily populated with residents with dementia so if that is not your need I would not recommend. It is a challenging community for those of us who are cognizant. Lastly the community has had and continues to have severe challenges with a quality dining experience. While they are working on the food quality which has begun to improve consistency is a challenge. For my liking they repeat menu items too frequently so it gets boring. They continue to have major challenges in dining room service with staff calling off and being inaccurate with orders.

Belmont is not the place for your loved one unless they are totally independent and fully mobile on their own. If they need any added care, look elsewhere. Our loved one was wheel chair bound and needed assistance with getting out of bed, going to bed and using the toilet. There was an incident (a fall) when our loved one was being assisted while using the toilet and it wasn’t reported until a day later. The PAL (helper) said there was never a fall, just that the knee was bumped on the wall. The knee was the size of a grapefruit. Our loved one was bedridden due to the pain and finally had a scan showing a fracture. The Executive Director, Tracy Knepple, and Resident Care director, Mareen Manzon, stated over the phone that the person was reprimanded and there would be retraining. Well our loved one ultimately passed away from complications due to the incident and then Tracey and Maureen denied ANY incident had ever happened. It was their staff members' word against our loved ones and they fully backed their staff member. Our loved one was devastated that nobody believed them. Management is cold, unprofessional and uncaring. A staff member can lie and get away with it. They are VERY careful not to put anything in writing or leave any detail in voicemail that would be incriminating. Beware…they will be nice upfront and get their community fee, but after the first few months, the level of care drops. Tracy is uncaring, rude and can’t be trusted. Elder care is like child care and you should be able to trust the people caring for your loved one. It’s obvious Belmont management cares more about their staff than the people they are caring for. There were other incidents in the 6 months my loved one was there where the call button was pushed for my loved one to get out of bed and they would come clear the call on the pendent, but not return to assist. Then the staff would complain about the call button being used too much. This happened with calls to assist getting to dinner as well as getting medications. They do not track when the call was closed, only that it was responded to. No way to track accountability. For the amount of money Belmont collects for rent, plus any care fees, you would think they would care more. Belmont may look good on the outside, but that’s what they want you to see.

My neighbor lived at Belmont Village under their respite care. Previously I was a huge proponent of aging in place; however, the experience over the past months has changed my mind. The properties is clean. All the staff was more than patient, kind and gracious even under difficult situations. The food and dining experience is exceptional. Fun activities and events going every day to participate in or not. The Wellness Center very conscientious in their medication responsibilities. As a person previously reticent, my mind has been changed and I'm grateful my neighbor had the opportunity.

Deeply Disappointed with Belmont Village Sabre Springs I’m very disappointed with the care and concern my mother received at Belmont Village Sabre Springs. She was often left waiting 30–40 minutes just to be taken to the dining room for meals — a situation that happened frequently and caused her significant distress. Eventually, I had to purchase her an electric wheelchair just so she could get to meals on time. But the biggest disappointment came when I was informed — without warning or any meaningful discussion — that her monthly rate would jump from $5,950 to $6,370 and then suddenly to over $10,000 a month. I was told this was due to a “reassessment,” which felt more like an excuse to justify a massive rate hike than a genuine evaluation of her needs. I attempted to speak with the Director, Tracy Knepple, about this unreasonable increase, but I was met with rudeness and unprofessionalism. I was treated with complete disregard and disrespect, despite being a concerned family member trying to advocate for my mother’s care and well-being. As a result, I made the decision to move my mom to a new facility — one where she is now thriving and no longer has to worry about inconsistent care or unexpected financial strain. I strongly urge anyone considering Belmont Village Sabre Springs to look very carefully at how they handle both care and communication. In our experience, they failed on both fronts.
