My mother was in a terrible accident and spent the whole summer at Alpine Fireside for her rehabilitation. I can't say enough about this wonderful facility. It's a very warm family oriented center that really cares about their clients. The PT department is top notch! The social services are amazing and kept us updated on her progress and worked very hard on finding Mom a great place to go after rehab. The nurses are great! If I had to be in a rehab center this is the one I would choose. Kathy G

I arrived on Friday and they said that they didn’t have any medication for me and I was in a lot of pain. I finally remembered that I had some in my purse, by then I was beside myself with pain. I finally went to sleep and didn’t wake up until five AM to go to the bathroom. I put on my call light and waited. At five thirty I couldn’t wait any longer and got there on my own. The caregiver got there after I was back in bed! She said that she was on the other side of the facility and couldn’t hear me. The same thing happened the next day I needed to go to the bathroom. At breakfast time the brought in my medication and I took it. Pretty soon I turned beet red and my skin got hot and I couldn’t stop itching! Right, they had given me a medicine that I was allergic to! I called my family to have someone pick me up before they killed me! The inside looks nothing like the photos, everything is worn out and the meals were terrible. I was also afraid because I was in the very back, my windows were left open at night and I was on ground level and they told me that they spent their time in the front and it was hard to hear me!

My mother was a rehab patient at Alpine Fireside. The home was said to be the best in town by hospital caseworker. Lori and peg worked above and beyond to get my mom in. They are the BEST! Lori always updated me, they were compassionate and caring her whole time. My father in law was in there too, the same compassionate care. The nurses were all kind and considerate. I do believe family needs to be involved with care for their loved one, but I believe Alpine Fireside is a safe, compassionate place to be.

9-17-22 CORRECTION ON "no covid-19" posted a year ago by Vicki Kuhl. As of Aug 2021 there were actually 5 deaths and 65 cases per US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT at Fireside. If you heard "no covid" from Alpine Fireside, shame on them!!!! Look it up, revise your review!! Info. also available at Illinois Department of Public Health!<br>6-10-21 Update: Things are worse. Fireside brought in paper and told resident that POA, Power of Attorney should be changed to a POA who lives closer to Fireside. Resident signed over POA to our daughter. She and her mother haven't spoke for years. My better half received email indicating she no longer had the right to ask about her mother's condition, check on her medical condition or even be contacted if her Mom passed away.<br>We even had a 2 way phone conversation with resident and chief administrator Peg W. and us. Resident emphatically stated: "Well it looks like my signature, but I never would have agreed to cut off my only daughter from POA benefits!"<br>Peg said she would "take care of it." POA was never changed and Peg Washington won't talk to us. Not by phone, Email, message or any forms of communication, because my better half is not POA<br>7-2-21 Want to talk to these folks about doing possible business, get info about your loved one?
