i've been waiting to write this review so as not to say unnecessary things in the heat of a moment. my folks had a terrible experience at this facility. if you're considering using them run - don't walk. both of my parents were there for 7 months. my mother, as caregiver to my bedbound father, had a stroke and as i found out is common, the nursing facility gave us 48 hours to locate assisted living for her/them. i did petition the state for another 24 hours. i don't live in Arizona, and was recovering from major surgery at the time so coordinated from out of state. it was high pressure from both the nursing facility and their assisted living placement contractor. we were given 4 options and my father chose Aloha because they were the lowest price. i knew we were in trouble when i got a copy of their contract to review and saw it was a huge mess. my requests for revisions to the contract before my parents were to sign were completely denied for a variety of reasons. my brother who lives local to them and has POA ended up coordinating. when my mother arrived at the facility, she had a pressure wound that over the course of their stay was basically untreated until it was too late and had turned into a "kennedy" wound the size of a football and 1/2" deep in spots. a wound developed during their stay 'tunneled' into the existing wound. my father raised the alarm that she was being severely neglected and i didn't make it out to see with my own eyes until the month before she passed. he was absolutely correct and it was 100 times worse than i could have ever imagined. they were basically drugging her and leaving her to rot; my father being in the same room with her had to watch her suffer daily which in my opinion amounts to full-bore torture. i will not go into more detail, because what's done is done, but it was completely obvious to me that the overall neglect hastened her passing. and of course they evicted my father 9 days after she passed. at least then i was able to locate a facility for him in person that provides caregiving services that makes Aloha seem like my folks were trapped in a dog house. again i could go on, but there's no point other than sharing my experience for others to consider. namaste.
