I would strongly suggest not requesting donations or financial support from individuals who have had a negative experience with this company. After a disappointing experience, I was surprised to be asked for financial support today. Based on my interactions with this company, I would not recommend their in-home "care" services. I also cannot support a business that, in my view, does not operate in a way that aligns with ethical or professional expectations. Please find services elsewhere if you are looking for morals and compassion.

For 3 years this agency provided care for my adult child with ASD and other health conditions. We tried to work with them to make it work, but it finally became clear this wasn’t ever going to change. From the beginning they had problems retaining employees then things got progressively worse with them expecting her to be “cured” of ASD so she wouldn’t need services. There has been a long history of them failing to administer medications as instructed along with basic knowledge of how to clean and care for a person with special needs. This finally came to a head the end of January 2024 when they literally said “if only she qualified for DD services, then we could help her” this was after I stated that I was very frustrated and surprised they they couldn’t handle a client with ASD. Both myself and HCBS case manager said “just how would you treat her differently?” and they literally started naming off stuff that they do in group homes to “control” clients, make lists, take belongings away etc. I actually laughed. I said, no you wouldn’t because she doesn’t respond to control tactics and dictatorship. HCBS told them there would be absolutely no change in how they would care for her even with the DD diagnosis. The majority of care workers had an “I don’t care” attitude and were very unprofessional in their chart notes. They also used “dictatorship control” tactics to try to elicit cooperation. Clearly, this wasn’t working and only made matters worse for our daughter, making her feel unsafe in her own home. They had new staff being trained every month as their turnover rate is quite high. The people that were good left for higher paying jobs and report being much happier after leaving this agency citing their “unethical” methodology and behavior towards clients. Staff at AEHC spent the last 2 weeks of care doing things like leaving wet laundry in the machine and not completing it. Not cleaning anything that wasn’t necessary, leaving their shift early and not giving medications that were required. This is not only unprofessional, but very unethical! The level of inconsistency and failure to adhere to a regular schedule made this agency a nightmare to work with. They regularly failed to return calls, respond to emails and follow up on concerns from myself, the legal guardian, and various other agencies involved in her care that required intermittent communication. I would definitely not recommend them for anyone but especially for people with disabilities.
