it took 2 call lights and 4 CNA’s until someone finally got a resident out of bed. CNA’s are extremely rude when you have concerns about a resident and walk away when your asking questions, “that’s not my resident, wait until their CNA gets here” why are you answering the call lights then if the resident supposedly isn’t your resident and your not going to do anything to help them anyways? the resident was falling out of bed and was completely sideways, finally a CNA came in and i kindly asked if she could readjust the resident at-least until someone can get them out of bed, the CNA said “they’re not falling out of bed”, rolled her eyes and was trying to walk off so i explained that i tried putting a pillow underneath so it somewhat helped but he is still sideways and not comfortable. she finally adjusted him and stormed out of the room after i said thank you. if you are a CNA at any nursing home, every resident is your resident and you are obligated to help no matter the case if you have your CNA certification. i waited 50 min and used the call light twice, every time they said “someone will be in here soon”. what if that was your relative? would you let them sit in bed all morning in a dirty brief and get sores? usually the resident is up when i get there so i can assist with feeding and take them on walks. this was extremely upsetting and disappointing. why be a CNA if you don’t actually care about your residents. find a different career if you lack empathy and don’t know how to be a decent human being towards others that are vulnerable.
