Valley Senior Living on 42nd - Country Estates

Country Estates is an independent living community for active seniors located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The community is a 3-story apartment building with 60 units and several floor plans, offering secured access and numerous amenities. Nursing services are not provided on-site, though residents may contract with outside home care agencies for scheduled services if needed.

The community features spacious apartments with full-size appliances, including in-unit washer and dryer. All utilities, heat, electricity, water, central air conditioning, and refuse services, are included in the monthly rent, except cable television and telephone. Hot meals are available daily at the Myra Café at an additional cost, with lunch service and café offerings available Monday through Friday.

Common areas and amenities include a fireplace lounge, salon, library, exercise room, gaming room, OT/PT room, and auditorium. The community is connected to the Town Square area, where residents can enjoy coffee and various activities. Transportation is provided to scheduled medical appointments in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, as well as weekly shopping trips to select stores. A monthly blood pressure clinic is also offered to residents.

Country Estates is part of Valley Senior Living on 42nd Street, a full continuum of care community located south of the Alerus Center. This arrangement allows couples with different care needs to live in proximity to each other, for example, one spouse in independent living at Country Estates while the other receives memory care at nearby Hearthstone, with access between buildings without going outside. Valley Senior Living is governed by a Board of Directors representing 23 Lutheran churches across Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, and surrounding areas.
