Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana (AIHS) is the Area 3 Agency on Aging serving northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne. The organization provides information and assistance, caregiver support, home delivered meals, and additional services designed to promote independence and help seniors live safely in the community.

AIHS has been selected by the Indiana Department of Administration as one of five organizations and the only Area Agency on Aging to provide Home and Community-based Waiver Services Case Management statewide across Indiana. The organization offers streamlined access to information, care options, short-term case management, and benefits enrollment across a spectrum of long-term care services and supports.

The organization coordinates and provides preventative, primary, acute, and long-term care services so that older individuals can continue living in the community. Aging & In-Home Services of NEI was a referral from my daughter-in-law who works in the dementia-care field. She saw the need I had for support and resources (as the primary caregiver for our mom). After we met with Shelby, it was apparent they were needed. Shelby and I speak every two weeks. Not only is she an amazing resource for me, she cares about me and my well-being as a caregiver. Our mom has vascular dementia and Shelby is caring and compassionate during our talks. She knows how to navigate my emotions and give me the resources I need for next steps. If you are considering a support system for your parent’s journey, please reach out!! Shelby visited Mom’s home with me, scheduled our calls, and has been tremendously helpful for me! Thank you Shelby!!!

They don’t answer the phone I’ve been calling for three days straight no answer no matter which button I click I can’t get anyone to answer just rings and then says they are not available for three days straight really.

They NEVER answer their phone. When they do they are rude to me and my father, but when I have an English speaking person call for my dad they have NO issue what so ever. I call multiple times through the day and leave voicemails and never once do they answer. When I leave a voicemail they never call back.
