My parents moved into Aegis Carmichael In late March after a very trying experience with hospitals and rehabilitation centers. I could no longer take care of them at home, and there was no way that we could afford 24 hour in-home care and continue paying all their bills. From the moment I spoke with Lisa, I finally felt like there was someone who understood the amount of stress that I was under and was sincerely there to help. Lisa, Mauricio, and the whole staff at Aegis are wonderful. From the restaurant crew, to the cleaning crew, to the caretakers, to management… all have shown nothing but compassion and support. One of the biggest things I worried about was making sure that, In their golden years, they had a good quality of life and were happy. The last year, taking care of them, that became very difficult for me because their needs were so many. It took me a minute to adjust to someone else coming in and taking over, and I can say that, given what I’ve seen over the last four months, I’m comfortable with the care of my parents, and I know that they are thriving… Possibly even better than when I was caring for them. The whole team at Aegis Carmichael comes together to do their best by our parents. They are organized, everything is clean and well-maintained…Pricing isn’t too much more or less expensive than other places, given their needs, especially considering all of the services and attention that my parents get. I’m most surprised by how my parents have bonded with Lisa and the staff. I was so worried that they would be someplace where they would feel alone or scared, and it’s the opposite. I’m thankful that they were there to help us in a very difficult situation. I know that our challenges aren’t over, but it really helps having knowledgeable professionals to help us navigate these challenging times.

My mother moved in about a month ago, and it has been a tremendous turnaround in the quality of her life. After the loss of my father some years ago, my mother has been somewhat isolated and withdrawn from a social life. Aegis has provided her with the socialization and activities that has been absent from her life for awhile. Thank you so much, Aegis!

When it was time to find assisted living for my parents, I toured five facilities. I felt immediate warmth walking into Aegis. The staff truly care and are happy to be there. That comes from the top and I have watched Mauricio and Lisa personally connect with my parents. I know they're well cared for and that peace of mind is priceless.

We recently moved my mother into Aegis Carmichael after having a horrible experience with an Oakmont property. From the initial visit to the move in, the team here has been fantastic. The staff truly love their work and the care they show residents is a testament to this. Trust me you don’t want your family member in a community that only cares about money. This place is legit. More about my experience (sorry it will be long). We were very traumatized initially because we had to make a move within 48 hours to get my mother out of the other place and I was only in town for a day. The Director, Lisa, accommodated us over the weekend and helped us understand options. The team all rallied over the weekend to get my mother assessed and were able to get us into an apartment by the time I had to leave two days later. We had to get into care so quickly that they made respite care available which allowed us to move my mother immediately into a furnished unit while we waited to move her things. I wasn’t expecting the resident experience to be as good as the care team. My mother seems to love her neighbors and has adjusted to the community well. The team here keep the residents busy which is so important for aging loved ones. Unlike her previous community, the team comes to get her regularly and engages her with kindness and care. I think this is reflective of the residents being happy. I am not a person who gives unwarranted reviews (you can read my scathing review of The Lodge) so when I post it’s because the experience is remarkable. If you are looking for a place for your family member give this place a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

This is a cockroach infested Senior Facility. Some residents complain about certain care managers ( caregivers ) not providing adequate care, team leads are informed, then the new GM is informed and nothing is done about it. The new GM seems incompetent compared to the last one if he truly believes running a senior facility is like running a cheap motel. Definitely not worth the price of admission, especially when there are at least 5 other senior facilities in the immediate area.
