I can't say enough GREAT things about Pennsylvania Place in Ottumwa, Iowa. My mom was so happy living there. The years she spent there were amongst the best of her life. In her words, "I finally don't have to cook or clean unless I want to." I know her favorite part of lunches were Chef Mike's homemade soups - I think he had 30 different kinds - and they were all delicious! His meals are complete, HUGE and filling - mom never left hungry! We were SURPRISED that mom actually SAVED money when she moved there. With no longer paying taxes, utilities and repairs (appliances, furnace/AC in her old house tended to break down), she was surprised with the cost savings! When we started thinking about a place for mom to move into, we didn't go to Penn Place as it's REALLY NICE and we just figured we couldn't afford it. However, when we started comparing, Penn Place was the MOST affordable of all the communities we visited. Forever thankful to their staff and fellow residents. WONDERFUL place to call home!

The care staff, housekeeping & dietary staff, as well as the administration and marketing departments are phenomenal. Daily, life enriching activities are well thought out and suited for our loved ones. I truly appreciate the staff of Pennsylvania Place, what a wonderful facility.

I was given the tour at their open house and was very impressed with the different type of housing available, everything was so nice & the staff was friendly & informative. I would recommend Pennsylvania Place to anyone looking for a safe secure place to live.

They are an amazing group of people that are willing to go up and beyond their day to day job duties. If you are looking for a safe, secure and “family oriented” place to move to or have a loved one move to then 1000% this IS the place!! Make sure to reach out to Brady she is the reason we chose Penn Place!! She is personable, honest and a joy to be around and I TRUST her with my mother.
