This is, without question, one of the finest nursing homes I have ever stepped foot in — and I’ve been in many over the years. My 85‑year‑old uncle came to Acadia after hip surgery unable to walk. Three months later, he is almost walking without a cane. Watching that progress has been nothing short of a blessing. The place itself is immaculate. The floors shine like a five‑star resort — you can see your reflection in them. And the food… I saw a plate of sausage and peppers that any Brooklyn native would have sworn came straight from a family kitchen. But what truly sets this place apart is the people. The staff — from PT to family services — are beyond exceptional. They treat every patient with dignity, patience, and genuine kindness. You can feel the compassion in the way they speak, the way they encourage, the way they show up every single day. God’s work is being done here, and you can see it in the progress, the care, and the humanity in every corner of this building. — Charles

My mom was in this rehab after surgery on her hip and they were phenomenal. From the top down... Administration, the staff on the units, the food was great, and the rehab got her back on her feet and moving. She came in unable to walk and after a few quick months she walked out the front door. I would highly recommend!

My mother was discharged from Peconic Bay Medical Center, to Acadia Rehab facility for rehabilitation of three broken ribs and a punctured lung. Upon arrival, we found the assigned room to be in a state of extreme neglect, posing an immediate threat to a patient with severe respiratory trauma. Specifically: Upon arrival at Acadia Rehab Center, my Mother was placed in a room to be in a grossly unsanitary and hazardous state: Widespread Floor Debris: The floor was not swept or disinfected. Debris, dirt, and unidentifiable fragments were scattered throughout the entire room, including significant accumulations directly under the bed. Accumulated Organic Matter: The corners of the room contained a thick,compacted buildup of hair, dirt, and fibrous material. This debris appeared to contain dead insect remains, suggesting the area had not been cleaned for an extended period. Biohazardous/Medical Waste: An open garbage can was present in the room, filled with discarded food (chicken bones), used plates, and medical waste from a previous occupant. Structural Safety Hazard: The radiator cover on the heating unit was broken and perched against the unit, leaving a metal pipe exposed. Due to the "Immediate Jeopardy" these conditions posed to a patient with a punctured lung and broken ribs, we refused the admission and my mother returned via ambulance to PBMC for her safety. Please read the reviews and think twice before sending your loved ones to this Rehab Facility.

I was there with a broken hip replacement. Worse place I have ever been too. They tried the wrong exercises on me, they had no idea what they were doing. hardly any rehab. I had to remind them that I had a broken hip. The food was horrible and cheap and dugustin. The black aids were the best. One polish lady was very rude and un caring. . It took a long time to answer my calls, if they did at all. . PS I ended up at St. Charles hospital to fix what they did. A blessing in disguise. St. Charles Rehab was the best. They really knew what they were doing. REHAB WAS 3 HOURS. and the food was great. When I was in Arcadia, I had people bring me food so I could eat. Someone there told me it was all about the money and someone was getting rich at our expense. They probably would never send a relative there.

A+ for Acadia Center-staff are caring, friendly, and attentive. They truly go above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable and valued. It is apparent that they genuinely care about the people they care for. The building is clean and well-maintained creating a warm and welcome environment. I'm very grateful for the wonderful service and compassion they show everyday.
