When I was searching for long-term care for a family member, it was a difficult decision. I wanted to be sure I considered all the important elements. My list included: top quality and compassionate clinical care; social work expertise; stimulating daily activities; delicious and nutrious meals; a clean, comfortable and friendly environment; a responsive and helpful staff; and an experienced admissions and finance team, along with a full understanding of costs. Thankfully, I found all this and more at Aberjona! To begin, Aberjona is a welcoming place. Staff smile and extend warm greetings. They take time to listen and respond (even when they are busy). Additionally, everyone works well together. This translates to a positive experience for residents and visitors! Things go smoothly at Aberjona because of a steady stream of professionalism and support, e.g. admissions and finance helped me successfully navigate complex paperwork and processes; the social worker sensitively guided me through processes that were emotionally difficult for me; the nursing staff, physical and speech therapy were transparent allowing me to adopt more realistic expectations for my family member. Beyond the initial transition, the nursing staff continues to closely monitor my family member and we have frequent conversations. Further, I have observed a hard working supportive staff who take their responsibilities seriously, e.g., those who respectfully and responsively attend to resident personal needs; those who carefully prepare and deliver meals, and feed residents who need assistance; those who organize, and ensure everyone feels included and has fun at activities; those who keep the facility clean, the tv's and utilities working, and make sure the outside walks and parking lots are clear and safe. It takes a village! Lastly, Aberjona offers extension services. We are using onsite hairdressing services and just ordered dental services. There is also a nice outside space we will visit soon. I am grateful to have discovered Aberjona and the wonderful people who work there. They are OUTSTANDING! To encapsulate my overall experience - Aberjona feels like home! Best, Paula

Suzanne and Katelyn from admissions are amazing. My wife and I came for a last minute tour and we were able to see everything and get all our questions answered. Definitely made a lasting impression, when the time comes we have our top choice.

My mom was there for 4 weeks and had an overall great experience. The activities program was amazing and so helpful for her in her rehab. Virginia, the activities director made all of the patients feel like they were “home.” Kushi, the charge nurse was fantastic in making sure my mom got to any appointments, etc. and when she was off, it was noticed. My mom’s nurse Jane was outstanding as well as many of the PCAs they went above and beyond to care for my mom. If she needed to ever go back to rehab, we would go there.

Requiring a stay at a rehabilitation facility by its nature is not a pleasant experience. Aberjona Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is not only highly ranked regionally it is also highly rated in some national reviews. What began as a short stay for my elderly father needing physical therapy has unexpectedly turned into a much longer stay. With the longer stay, we have had the inevitable mixed experiences that come with the institution of rehabilitation and nursing facilities. All that is good about Aberjona is best exemplified in the work of Kushie . She emotionally supported my father when he needed it the most on more than one occasion. Her clinical judgment and ability to collaborate with others creates a safe environment for all. She is a decisive and caring leader that every team should have. With so many other excellent caregivers at Aberjona I felt it necessary to single out the one who brings out the best in everyone. Although the stay has been imperfect the one constant has been Kushie.
