I dropped in at lunchtime, unannounced, to see if I could tour this memory care facility for possible placement of a family member. And I’ve just finished putting a deposit down, as I was so impressed with each staff member whom I met, the overall look & feel of the place, and my encounters with the residents. Executive Director Lauren Cottman took over an hour out of her day to cheerfully provide my unscheduled tour. I asked a lot of questions, as both my late mother and mother-in-law were in memory care facilities, in Carmel and San Rafael, respectively. Both of those past experiences were good and I I believe that WindChime of Marin will provide the same quality of care with a similar enriching environment. The physical setting is in a beautiful garden surrounded by redwood trees. Lauren showed me the one available private room with the garden view. Kudos to Lauren & her team.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Windchime of Marin, and I was truly impressed by the warmth and care that fill every corner of the community. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt peaceful, welcoming, and full of life. The staff greeted residents by name, engaged them with genuine kindness, and created an environment that felt more like family than a care setting. It’s clear that every team member takes great pride in what they do. The community is beautifully maintained, the programming is meaningful and personalized, and there’s an incredible sense of respect for each resident’s individuality. As a visitor, I left with such a deep appreciation for the compassion and dedication shown here. This is a truly special place—one that honors its residents with dignity, love, and heartfelt connection every single day.

The memory care program demonstrates a high standard of professionalism, compassion, and person-centered care. The staff are well-trained in dementia and Alzheimer’s care, consistently showing patience, respect, and attentiveness to residents’ unique needs. The community maintains a clean, secure, and comfortable environment that promotes safety and dignity. Daily activities are purposeful and designed to support cognitive engagement, social interaction, and emotional well-being. Communication between staff and families is timely and transparent, ensuring continuity of care and trust. Overall, the memory care team especially Lisa Lomeli & Lauren Cottman exemplifies quality service, empathy, and commitment to enhancing the lives of residents. I can’t say enough positive things about Windchime of Marin. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted with warmth, compassion, and a genuine sense of care. Whether it’s music therapy or art classes, the staff ensures that every resident has opportunities to connect, create, and thrive. The staff are not only professionally trained but also attentive. You can tell they genuinely care about each resident’s well-being. The community is safe, clean, with cozy common areas and secure outdoor spaces that encourage movement and social interaction. If you’re looking for a memory care community that combines outstanding programming with compassionate, attentive care, I wholeheartedly recommend Windchime of Marin.

If you're at the point where you're reading reviews of memory care housing, you're already in a really difficult situation and going through one of life's most unpleasant roller coasters. My sister and I needed to find a place for our stepmother, and while we hadn't dealt directly with memory care before, we had been exposed to it through other relatives and friends of the family. Based on the expectations of those experiences, Windchime was an incredible find. What we found were caring and engaged staff that were kind and friendly towards everyone. A decently maintained facility situated in a beautiful area with a gorgeous view of Mt Tam. Wonderful varieties of food that got our stepmother to finally eat again. Most importantly, we became aware we were working with a team & facility that aren't part of a horrible extractive corporate chain. We've seen that elsewhere and heard the stories, and it's clear that the staff here care about their work & are committed to it more than a corporate bottom line. Everyone has been so kind and so helpful in making sure our family member is safe and to help us navigate this new reality. The kindness and compassion here is something we just haven't seen at this level anywhere else.
