The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly I was a 6 week long resident recently at Westwood Hills and I appreciate the handful of healthcare pros that helped my recovery. The therapy staff pushed me, and I went home 2 weeks earlier than expected. The bad food is heavy on pork & starch. No one wants to eat cold, flavorless food, too hard to be cut or chewed. Foods that were on the "Always Available Menu" rarely are available. It's interesting that residents are weighed often...I know I kept loosing lbs. A recently hired food director had food improving, but she wisely left quickly. IMO because of the Ugly Healthcare is hard work even on good days, so when management compensates below market and demands Nurses and CNA's cover more rooms/people than reasonable, care suffers. Morale is low, while the frustrated whispers are high, yet the Administrator ignores or rejects feedback from staff and residents. I got through by faith, positive mental attitude, and food brought in by family, and Door Dash.

I just want to personably thank Amanda Bare for going out of her way to assist me anyway she can while I am there attempting to care for my family’s needs. She is professional, courteous attentive & if she isn’t the person to assist with my problems or concerns, she will make sure that the proper person is notified . I feel she is a valuable asset to this organization in dealing with families in placing their loved ones on this facility.

The staff here is excellent, especially Annie E., Christy M., and Zeus (he has moved out of state now). I have had several experiences with Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wilkesboro, NC in the past 12 years both with the Rehab Center and Nursing Home without issue when needed for immediate family members. Leaving your loved one in facility for rehabilitation following an injury/surgery or the nursing home environment is hard, you are concerned about the care they receive around the clock. The instances that my family had were positive, we were updated on our family members’ condition, progress and next steps. The staff was caring, friendly and treated our family members like family as well. We were comfortable with our family members being here and the care they received. This is why we have recommended Westwood Hills to family and friends as well.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting West Wood Hills Nursing Home, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and kindness by the staff. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, making it feel like a true home away from home. The facilities are top-notch, with clean and comfortable living spaces that are well-maintained. The common areas are beautifully decorated, providing a cozy and inviting environment for residents to socialize and relax. What truly sets West Wood Hills apart is the exceptional care provided by the dedicated staff. They are not only highly professional but also genuinely compassionate and attentive to the needs of each resident. Overall, West Wood Hills Nursing Home is a wonderful place that provides outstanding care and a nurturing environment. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a supportive and loving community for their loved ones.

I just moved my mother up here and I have got to say Westwood Hills compared to where she was staying is night and day! I wasn’t comfortable leaving her where she was. I’m thankful they had a place for her. Truthfully, I got more information in a few hours from them than I ever did from the other Nursing Home she was in. I am really impressed and pleased. And I love the staff. They were so helpful.
