I helped my uncle get a place here. If you have a low income senior in your life and they need somewhere to stay this is a really good choice. Full freight is $1000 per month water & electricity included. Once Westminster makes a financial assessment, they will request some basic documents and apply to HUD for the senior. My uncle is down to $300 per month now. The view is amazing because the building is 12 floors, there's laundry on each floor, the elevators are fast, security is 24 hrs per day and a parking space is provided. They also give out a free lunch meal. I can only imagine many younger people would love a deal like this. By the way if you internet search "Westminster low income senior (whatever) state", you will discover these places are all over the country. They all have slightly different forms and they all have to be separately applied to with some basic supporting documents.

I saw some of the other reviews and had to say something. I spent half my life managing lower income housing. This is nothing at all like those. It is clean, we have a really great management team ( I think that's got to be part luck and part Tracy's hidden superpower). It can occasionally be noisy but not ridiculously so and not for a very long time. We can see part on the Monroe Street parades two or three times a year and we are across from a lovely garden club where they have a few weddings a year. That's pretty much it. We are also being improved on in a big way. Thanks to a grant we are getting new elevators, fire alarms, CO2 detectors,new water pipes, new H/vac. Plus the cosmetics, hall paint and doors, new carpet etc. This is one of the nicest places I have ever lived and I thank God for it every day. I don't know who said the bad things but I will say that they have rules here about things like drinking and smoking. If you break the rules you will be invited to move on. Some people get angry about that and might say bad things, just saying. Anyway don't believe anything you read about it online, not the bad or the good. Come see it yourself

I've lived at Westminster Gardens for the last three years. It is all that I thought it would be, a 1970s building with a sense of the past but a look to the future. In any of its studio or one bedroom apartments, there is no bad view of the Gardens or the City. Last February, 2023, "Georgia Belle" as this lovely old building was once known, began getting an internal facelift with help from HUD funding. She's been rewired; elevators, fire alarm systems, and even the boiler are getting replaced/updated. To me, the administrator has done a masterful job of coordinating this massive construction plan. If you've ever been involved renovating an old house or updating a new house (while you live in it), you know plans change. In 2022, we were lucky to get an insightful, diligent administrator who hired like-minded new staff to take us from the 1970s into the 2020s. Reading some past reviews, I noticed references to staff members who left at least two years ago, one of them before I came to live here in July of 2021. I don't know what it was like before that but I know what it is like now, and I'm not an easy one to please. If you are over 62 and value your independence—this is not assisted-living—Westminster Gardens might be for you, especially if you enjoy being part of a community.

Terrible place!! No Wi-Fi unless you sit in the lobby and can pick up on the business line. The staff is very nice and accommodating until you move in! Then it becomes very obvious they don’t give a hoot about you! They do the bare minimum to get by with lots of excuses to cover themselves! Forget having anything repaired! Donna & April are 2 peas in a pod! Just basically sit around and gossip all day! Administrator is lazy, and totally clueless as to the needs of the renter! The EMT’s are there multiple times a week to pick up someone who needs medical attention. It’s located in a very loud part of town. So noisy at night. Must have a car if you live here. Not only to be able to escape but there’s nothing to do within walking distance of the place. Beware!

I just moved in about three weeks ago and I luv luv luv it. The staff is so very helpful,kind and courteous it makes being a newbie very easy since they offer so much. Fitness, food and fun. I am very happy ☺ to be a new resident. Thank you to Angel 👼 Donna and the rest of the team I have had the pleasure to meet. You are all doing a great 👍 job. God has blessed me with a clean, comfortable little palace of my own!!!!
