My husband needed strengthening after getting deconditioned in the hospital. The rehab/therapy department is very skilled and nice. They really knew how to encourage and help him. ALL the nurses and staff were professional and kind. They knew how to handle his feeding tube. The place was clean. They allow visitors whenever you want and he even had a nice ocean view.

I had my foot partially amputated. I spent 2 months there. The staff are awesome. Very kind knowledgeable people. My nurse was Cynthia. She was amazing. When I got there I was unable to walk or do anything on my own, however that changed too fast because of them. I'm now home ready to start a new chapter in my life thanks to them

Where do I start? Let me start by saying I am a resident here at West Lawrence, I've been this is June and I have always used large white diapers because I l a heavy set woman so therefore they cannot use small diapers on me because they won't fit this very uncomfortable. As of late they have downsized everyone in this building to small diapers it doesn't matter if you are heavy set or wide hipped, the administration or the owners have made it to where everyone has to wear the small diapers now here I am laying in the bed with what feels like a thong on and it's very uncomfortable there's no white diapers in the building and I'm wondering why. They took us from using the large diapers and now picture this if you can. No white diapers are being used that's the large ones they have us using green diapers now it's much smaller than the white diamonds here you have patience in here who are better than it like myself cool urinate and poop for lack of a better word, and their diaper so imagine if you will everyone who uses diapers having to urinate and defecate in these small diaper and then laid up in it all day until somebody feels like changing them How degrading is that? And not only did they downsize the diapers they downsize the pull-ups for the people who will pull-ups they took them from the large size to small size Make that make sense. I want him complaining because I want somebody to see it and make a difference because these diapers that they have us wearing is very uncomfortable it irritates my vagina. And cuts me. So I want something done about it. I shouldn't have to purchase my own supplies because I am in a facility that's supposed to provide the supplies need it to make me comfortable. I hope that there is no lash back from me posting this I do hope that there is a resolution. I'll be back

Thank you so much to all the great people at West Lawrence!!! My Uncle has severe dementia and needs 24/7 care. He was transferred there about a year ago from a horrible nursing home in Suffolk County. Although West Lawrence is far away for family members to visit, we couldn't be happier with the care and compassion he receives there. The staff all know him and say "hello" to him in the hallways and dining room. The medical care has been great, the doctor there has fine-tuned his meds several times (all with our consent) so he has become less anxious and has the same demeanor as before the dementia. He's upbeat and happy to talk, (not "zonked-out"). They check-in with us to report any changes, and he was admitted to Flushing Hospital where he needed an internal surgery recently. The staff is really great there. They smile, are very friendly and seem to enjoy working there. They put together a little birthday party for us which my uncle really enjoyed. Whenever we visit, even without an appointment, he is always clean and well dressed. We all sleep better knowing that the people there really care for him. The only negative thing I can say is that the place could use a few million dollars renovation, but even so it's always clean there so I do not wish to give up a "star" on this review for that reason. The people who work there excel far beyond the looks of the place. If you're on the fence about who to trust with your loved one, look no further.
