As I walked through Watermark Laguna Niguel to visit my mom I passed a lively game of cards in the activity area, and there were several others in the exercise room for the afternoon exercise session. When I walked back out later there was a good size group in the bistro area doing a craft activity with a leader, and another group in front of the TV over the fireplace enjoying watching the World Cup together.

It reminded me of a very different experience from when mom was touring various assisted living facilities before she picked Watermark. At one location they gave us the list of activities for that day with the times and locations. As we walked through, I kept checking the calendar - but people didn't seem to be doing the planned activities or using the facilities, and actually we met very few residents out of their rooms.

As a family member it is so encouraging to see activities offered that people actually want to come out of their rooms to join, and to see so much happy interactions.

Thank you for providing staff and activity choices that resonate with the residents. It makes me very happy to know mom moved to a place with more than just food and a bed but offers a great quality of life.
