Our family had a wonderful experience with the staff and care provided at this assisted living residence. The compassion, patience, and kindness shown to my dad meant so much to us during an important time in his life. The staff treated him with dignity and genuine warmth, and it was clear they truly cared about the residents. The facility was always clean, welcoming, and well managed, and communication with our family was excellent. We were grateful for the attention, support, and comfort they provided every day. Thank you to everyone there for making such a positive difference in my dad’s life and giving our family peace of mind. We highly recommend this residence to anyone looking for caring and professional assisted living services.

My husband went there in July 1 2024, he only lived 2 weeks. They charged me 12,000 dollars for the entire month payable before he got there. The manager said that if he passed away before the month was up, you are refunded the balance as soon as the room was emptied. I did that the next day. This is February and I still haven’t received my refund, which is a lot of money. I understand that Commonwealth was sold to Viva Senior living but surely someone is responsible for this debt. If it was the other way around and I owed them money, you can believe they would be hounding me to death. I’ve reached out to the manager a few times and he said he would text me when they were going to issue the refund to me, but I haven’t heard back. If I call Viva Senior Living you get a voice mail saying to leave a message , I do, but have never received a call or anything. I can’t complain about the care my husband received and the room was very nice. I liked the staff , they seemed very knowledgeable, but it is very unprofessional to not honor the contract that I had to sign. If you can’t trust them financially, that’s a huge dealbreaker.

Most of the workers at Commonwealth were kind and loving with my mother but we were disappointed that the home was inadequately staffed. During her time there they were not able to retain an activity director and thus left that part of the schedule ignored. Chair aerobics in the morning never happened even though it was on the posted calendar. Encouraging movement may be the most important gift they could give their residents but we never experienced it. The business model is flawed if residents’ charges are increased when more care and attention is needed but no additional staff are hired.

My Mom has been at Commonwealth, in Cockeysville for 5 1/2 months now, and I have to say that I am so very, very pleased with the care and attention that the staff give her. They are also exceptionally supportive of the family members, cheerful, and really very nice. I have had lunch there, with my Mom a few times, and she loves the food and it is nutritious, and tasty. They keep her room neat and orderly and the fact that it is a smaller facility means she gets plenty of attention. I highly recommend this facility, and I'm so glad that Mom is safe, and well-taken care of!

My mother has been at CSL Cockeysville for a little over a month. She loves it there! The staff and administrators are very sweet and patient with her and all of the residents. It is bright and cheerful and is kept very clean. She is in the memory care building and they communicate with me constantly about everything that needs my input or may be of concern. It is not far from my home so I am able to pop in almost daily. I am always impressed with how they care for all of the residents. I looked at a few other places for Mom but I’m very happy that we chose Commonwealth Senior Living at Cockeysville! It is reasonably priced for the area. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a professional and compassionate home for their loved one.
