I currently work as a PRN caregiver/direct care professional with Visiting Angels, and overall my experience has been positive, with a few areas that could benefit from improvement. One of the main advantages is the weekly compensation, which is both timely and reliable. The pay structure is consistent, and I appreciate not having to wait extended periods for payment. Additionally, the shift locations are generally convenient, and the work environment feels more secure than I initially anticipated. I’ve also had positive experiences with most clients and have not encountered significant issues in that regard. That said, there are some challenges—particularly with scheduling. The current “first come, first served” system can make it difficult for PRN staff to secure consistent shifts. Even when categorized as a priority employee, opportunities don’t always feel equitably distributed. This becomes especially concerning given the requirement to remain active on the schedule within a certain timeframe, as PRN staff often depend on availability rather than guaranteed hours. A more balanced and structured scheduling system could help ensure fairness across the board. Communication is another area that could be strengthened. At times, interactions with scheduling staff can feel unclear or inconsistent, which can lead to misunderstandings. A more streamlined and transparent approach would improve the overall experience for caregivers who rely on timely and accurate information. Lastly, fostering a more supportive and professional tone among team members would go a long way. Caregivers play a vital role in supporting clients, and maintaining mutual respect and clear communication is essential for a healthy and productive work environment. Overall, Visiting Angels is a solid company with strong foundational benefits. With improvements in scheduling fairness, communication, and team collaboration, it could provide an even better experience for its caregivers.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with this company was disappointing. Communication and professionalism were not what I expected, especially given the nature of the services they provide. When you’re dealing with people and families who rely on you, there has to be a higher standard of respect and accountability. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. The owner has a hot temper, and doesn’t do business in good faith. I hope this is something ownership takes seriously and improves moving forward.

This team is so wonderful! I cant imagine how I would have made it through without them. They worked so hard to take care of my father. His care started with 40 hours a week and near the end it was 24 hours a day. They were right there to support us through it all. They are wonderful women and men, truly God sent people. I cant praise them enough.
