I have nothing but good to say about this agency! I have had therapist whom I didn’t “mesh “ with but they were always helpful and supportive! I feel that I have greatly benefited from their services!

The first time I had them after I left the hospital went really well but I just had them again in December which was a joke. I explained I had family coming in from out of state and they were bring their four large dogs. I asked if it would be ok if nursing and physical therapy could be held off without it going against me. I was reassured by both nursing and physical therapy it would not. I then called them just to let them know I had a bad cold and I was going to the doctors. I told them I tested negative for Covid. They told me even if I had Covid they could still come out. I told them I was NOT cancelling, that I just wanted them to know I was sick. I told them my physical therapist was scheduled to come out tomorrow. No one ever showed up. The next week I called and left a message never hearing back from them. I called again yesterday and talked to someone. She told me I was discharged because I cancelled two weeks. I told her I did not cancel and for her to check the messages because when you call them it tells you the messages are being recorded. I also told her that I was told it would not go against me when I asked if it would be OK if nursing and therapy could hold off while family was here at Christmas and I was assured it would not. All she said well there must have been a miscommunication. I told her no one ever called me to tell me anything. So all I received was 2 weeks of therapy and a nurse. I hope people read these reviews before picking. As you can see the reviews are not very good. I’ve learned my lesson!

Patricia the physical therapist should be fired. Because of my disabilities and the fact that she didn’t want to help me… she literally told me “you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink.” FOR SOMETHING I COULDN’T HELP! Come to find out that there were 3 pervious patients that refused to have her back in their homes. She made my home unsafe and I feel like I need to sage it now! What a miserable human to make you feel like an animal when you are at your lowest! I refuse to have Virtua back in my home ever again. If you have service dogs, ask for Bayada. Virtua will make you lock them in your room. If you feel like being treated like a human being ask for Bayada’s home care. If you want to go to a funeral/cemetery/church/synagogue while you are on home care, ask for Bayada unless you want it thrown in your face. Everyone’s been warned!

I’ve never had a worse experience in my life! My mom was in the hospital for 10 weeks and had to wait 2 weeks to get any kind of in home care. Once they finally started coming, the communication was awful….nurses and therapists scheduling appointments on top of each other and/or not even showing up. When my mom was ready go to outpatient therapy we had to wait an additional 2.5 weeks because these people absolutely refused to give us her discharge paperwork. MY MOM WENT WITHOUT THERAPY FOR 2.5 WEEKS BECAUSE THESE INCOMPETENT BUMS REFUSED TO DO THEIR JOB. I called and called and called and NO ONE would help. I went to the office and they wouldn’t even let me in the door and stated “we don’t do discharge papers here” and hung up on me. After 2.5 weeks and over a dozen phone calls and emails, I was able to get Karen Hendrickson on the phone and she finally took care of it in about 5 minutes. Can someone please answer as to why this was such a ridiculous chore to get??? Why was I lied to at the office? Why does Chantee Elliot refuse to answer her phone, returns calls, or do her job in general!? This was the most pathetic experience I’ve ever been a part of. 2.5 weeks to get a document that should have taken 30 seconds….and my mother had to suffer because of it. I will do nothing from this point forward but talk poorly about your organization to anyone that will listen. Obviously there’s a reason your rating is 2 stars…what a joke.

Virtua Home Health refused to see my father after a week long stay in the hospital because of a mask requirement. So they would rather keep pushing a failed narrative instead of providing important treatment services for patients who need them. Every medical facility on earth has hid behind the CDC "guidelines" for the rationale behind mask and distancing requirements. The CDC has officially dropped the universal masking requirement in medical facilities. Which correct me if I'm wrong, that is now an updated CDC guideline. So for 2 years you're going to follow the CDC's recommendations/guidelines but now all the sudden, the CDC is wrong and you're right? What a joke. The packaging that paper masks come in literally says right on it that they do NOT stop the spread of viruses. Also - none of us are sick. Also - we all have mask exemptions which means Virtua Home Health failed to honor our exemptions. There are SO many egregious violations here. Get over yourselves Virtua home health care - asking people to wear a mask in their own homes is a ridiculous and irresponsible request.

Yes. Virtua Home Health Services is a Medicare-certified home health agency, so Medicare Part A or Part B pays in full for skilled nursing, therapy and home health aide visits when a doctor orders them and the patient is homebound. There is no copay for covered home health visits. Medicare rates the agency's quality of patient care 3.0 out of 5 stars.
For Medicare to pay, yes: a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant must certify that care is needed and sign a plan of care. Families can call the agency first, and the agency will usually contact the doctor to arrange the order. Ongoing help with bathing, meals and companionship is a different service, non-medical home care, which needs no referral.
