My father was admitted to The Villas at Sunny Acres after a fall and spent approximately three months there for wound care and physical therapy. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this facility as a place to entrust the care of a loved one. During his stay, there were multiple incidents where he pressed the call light for assistance and was left waiting 30 minutes or longer before anyone responded. For someone recovering from a serious injury and requiring assistance, these delays were unacceptable. On one occasion, he was even told by a nurse that she was too busy to help him. He fell out of bed one night and the next day I came to visit him and found dried blood on the floor due to his fall and brought it to his social workers attention. He was also left during a cleaning and change of bedding for at least 30 minutes, which was both heartbreaking and concerning. We were also troubled by the way some members of the nursing staff handled him. There were times when his wounded legs were moved roughly and even thrown onto the bed rather than being handled with the care and compassion someone in his condition deserved. It was difficult to watch and made us question the quality of care he was receiving. The social work and business office were also a significant source of frustration. Throughout his stay, we were repeatedly told that his Medicaid application and Action Review Group (ARG) process would likely be denied because of his age and other factors. This caused unnecessary stress and uncertainty for our family. In the end, he was approved, making it clear that the negative opinions and information we were given were inaccurate. Instead of receiving guidance and reassurance during a difficult time, we often felt discouraged and left without clear answers or support. Although there were a few staff members who treated my father with kindness and compassion, our overall experience was overshadowed by repeated concerns about neglect, poor communication, rough handling, and a lack of support from the administrative team. Families deserve to feel confident that their loved ones are receiving attentive, respectful, and compassionate care, and unfortunately, that was not our experience. Based on everything our family experienced over those three months, I cannot recommend The Villas at Sunny Acres. I would encourage you to carefully consider all of your options before choosing this one.

I'm a resident here at the The Villas at Sunny Acres and welcome John Stewart. We have already felt a change in the atmosphere. He has "moved in with us", literally made his office more accessible near the front hall. We see him everywhere, and he sees and hears us. Thank you, John! My husband and I have lived here almost two years. We are so thankful for the caring community and our Sunday morning congregation at The Villas at Sunny Acres. We've made a lot of friends. The renovation of the HVAC system that allows us to adjust the climate in our own apartment is welcome! The meals in the dining room recently have improved. So my husband was there for seven days. It was a nightmare, and every time I went in the bed was wet. He pooped his pants and every time I went in, and which I go twice a day, his food was sitting on the tray next to his bed, but he couldn’t reach it and one time he was starving and he was eating the pork chops and my girlfriend got him up out of bed and put him in a chair so we could eat that pork chop. That is the least of what happened. He fell 4 times within five days and the last time he fell he cracked his head has a 2 inch gash on his head is now back at the hospital and that is not the least of my problems with that place. I have pictures where they put his call button in the drawer and his bed button for his bed Was in the drawer next to the drawer that was broke no big deal but then they never got him up to eat. This place is awful so we went to the hospital after he his fall this is definitely not the end of my story I guarantee you

I can’t say enough about the care my dad received at Villas at Sunny Acres during his long-term rehab stay. Yadira D. was absolutely exceptional. Her compassion, consistency, and genuine care made a huge impact on my dad’s experience. She made him feel comfortable, respected, and truly supported every single day. You could see how much she cared, and that meant everything to our family. Jeremy was just as impactful. He was always there when we needed him—helpful, responsive, and fully invested in making sure my dad had what he needed. His support helped create a smooth and positive experience throughout the stay. Mike and the rest of the physical therapy team were outstanding. They brought energy, expertise, and the right level of encouragement to every session. They pushed my dad in all the right ways while building his confidence, and the progress he made is a direct result of their work. Because of the experience he had with this team, my dad is already asking us to line up Villas at Sunny Acres again for his next rehab stay after his upcoming procedure. That says everything. We’re incredibly grateful for the entire team and all they did to get him back on his feet. - Only one downside was the make sure if you check in on a Saturday, staff is not stout, and just need to make sure you ask more questions to get them checked. The rehab services are horrible. We had to put my dad here at this place for him to get rehab but the staff was rude and unprofessional. They never wanted to help my dad at all. He will be in pain or just be very nauseous. When we will visit them the staff was being rude saying they have gave him pills when we confirmed with my dad to see if it was true and it wasn’t. This place was very filthy it smelled so bad. The staff never take care of patients good at all. My dad has very low blood pressure and had to take medication at a certain time but I feel li they never gave it to him at the time it was. As well we asked the nurse to retake the blood pressure and said all rude” I’ll take it in 15 minutes “ with an attitude. Then the nurse said they can’t take care of my dad with low blood pressure. This place sucks please don’t take your love one here. Avoid this place at all cost.
