1 star - Understaffed, unresponsive, and my aunt’s safety is at risk My aunt was admitted to Vero Beach Care Center for rehab after a hospital stay, and what our family has witnessed since then is deeply alarming. This facility appears to be severely understaffed, and the lack of communication with families is unacceptable for a place that receives government and state funding; funding that comes with an obligation to provide safe, adequate care. I have called this facility more times than I can count trying to reach the rehabilitation unit to check on my aunt and share concerns about her care. The phone rings and then just disconnects. No one picks up. I’ve left multiple voicemails and have not received a single call back. When a facility can’t even answer a phone for a family trying to advocate for their loved one, something is seriously wrong. The conditions in my aunt’s room are unsanitary; we’ve counted roaches, and we’ve found used gloves thrown on the floor instead of in the trash (photos attached). My aunt is immobile and a fall risk, and I have personally witnessed her press the call button and wait over an hour for staff to respond. An hour. For someone who cannot get up on her own, that delay isn’t just neglectful, it’s dangerous. Most disturbing of all: my aunt was told by a nurse that she is not receiving the antibiotic medication she needs, despite having a port placed specifically for that treatment, because it’s “too expensive.” That is a medical decision being made based on cost, not on my aunt’s health, and it should never happen at a licensed care facility. This is supposed to be a place where patients recover. Instead, it’s a high-stress, unsafe environment that is actively working against my aunt’s healing. Families deserve to be able to reach staff, get updates, and trust that their loved ones are safe and receiving prescribed treatment. Right now, none of that is happening here. I would strongly caution anyone considering this facility for a loved one to look elsewhere.

Horrific treatment of patients. They left my ex husband in "dirty clothes" all night. Lost most of his clothes, bed sores were so bad the nurses at the hospital were shocked..this was after 2 weeks! Sloppy people..it was a horrible experience. Chose anywhere else. This was the back area no idea how the front area, rehab, operates. Experience from 2025

Very clean facility. Employees do a wonderful job with their patients and gave my husband excellent care especially considering he had fractured ribs, blood clots in his lungs, RSV, was in pain at times and unable to walk. Hopefully with PT and watchful care he will eventually be able to return home. The Staff has been doing a wonderful job and I commend them for it. Thank you everyone!

This place is a disaster. Dead cockroaches all over my sister's room. They NEVER clean the room. Sheets are usually dirty. Unfortunately, this is what most of these places are like. The reviews saying this place is "great" must be from friends of the owner. Most of these reviews are laughable. She has been there for many years, not much improvement in that time. The board of health says this blace is Below average...not good.

My biggest concern is the place is understaffed. While the therapy portion looks fine and well run; it is the staff supporting the patients for meals and bathroom assistance which appears problematic. The facilities are bare minimum; the room assigned to my mother had two TVs ( double room). However one TV did not have a remote and had to be plugged and unplugged via the electrical cord via the outlet, Without a remote, the volume and channels could not be adjusted and/or changed. The other TV had a remote however it wasn’t properly set up as the only reception received was ‘snow’. Very depressing. There were some excellent staff members but also a few with less than caring attitudes.
