My dad was in another facility that was absolutely the worst. He hated it!!! After getting him treated for their failures we chose VCC. This has been the most positive change, they care about him and listen if we have any concerns. My wish for VCC is they would look at how much their staff puts in to every person and compensate them adequately.

The physical therapists were the best thing about our experience and are all lovely people. However, everyone else seems to think families and POAs aren't entitled to information about their loved one once they bring them in for care. Meds were changed or even stopped (including meds for anxiety - it wasn't until we noticed our dad was constantly crying during our visits and asked multiple times that we found out they'd stopped them) and changes to his condition and well-being went completely unrelayed to us despite multiple meetings and pleas that we be kept informed. He also developed bed sores and was supposed to stay propped up on his side. After multiple visits witnessing him flat on his back I asked the head nurse (tall blond Sami) why he wasn't being kept on his side and she held her hand up in my face and was extremely rude and refused to answer. I eventually had to demand he be taken to the hospital where he was treated for multiple issues that they apparently did not notice. If we had had more options in the area we would have transferred him. This is just a handful of the things we dealt with. If you're happy to drop your loved one off and not be involved in their care then this is the place for you.

I've never seen a place so disorganized and heartless. I was lied to by multiple employees about my mother's belongings before and after her death. No manager or on call person the whole holiday weekend. They couldn't be bothered with the death of their resident, because it was a holiday weekend. I couldn't give 0 stars or I would've.

I was a resident for 3 years there. I had a wonderful experience and they helped me get back to and independent status from complex medical struggles that didn't allow me to be able to live at home.
