Nice staff but not enough of them for as many halls/residents they have.

The Newton care center staff is always nice and caring. My husband and I had to make that decision and put a good dear friend of ours who is 93 with dementia this is a horrible disease he enter in his last stage and definitely couldn't stay home anymore. People don't realize how difficult it is to fine good care that has combative behavior at times. Let me tell you Newton care center team is the place to be. It takes special professional caregiver team that specializing in dementia care who is trained to manage aggressive and agitated behaviors. Their is a certain wing in the facility for dementia residents. When you come to visit I see residents that are active in many things from bingo to Bible studies to crafting group exercise, outings, monthly birthdays etc. They issue activity monthly calendars that are filled out each day. The residents are dressed in their wheelchairs, watching TV, singing, talking, joking, some maybe sleeping. But that's okay they are out socializing and some just want to stay in the room. The staff is on the go. If you ever call them please be patient. You may not get through at first. Keep calling you will get through the nursing team is taken care of your loved one. Thank you for our loved ones care.

I don’t even want to give them a star. Do not bring your loved ones here. They do not care for their residents what so ever. A resident was barely there for a week and ended up back in the hospital because of a bad UTI among other things. They don’t treat bedsores to the point where it looks like 3rd degree burns. Not even mentioning they have bed sores until we found out from a nurse at the hospital. Also had open wounds that was not told about until they were infected. Then had the audacity to say they always treated them like a family member.

Thank you everyone at the Newton Healthcare Center for taking great care of my mom in March-April. All of the staff was very professional and friendly. I appreciate everyone for helping my mom’s wounds heal and taking her to PT everyday. From when I was there visiting I witnessed excellent care from your staff. I was relieved that my mom was in such good hands. Thank you Whitney and the rest of the staff there. Happy my mom was able to go back home with help from the in home nurses to continue her wound care and resting at home with her feet up!
