If it’s called “National Nursing Week” but you’re not celebrating the people who make it a nursing home what’s the point? A nursing home is made up of the Nurses, CNAs, Dietary, Housekeeping, etc. If you didn’t have those people you wouldn’t even have nursing homes. Maybe next time you decide to celebrate, maybe celebrate the Nurses and CNAs that work for you not just the building they work in. How about that?!

Absolutely the worst place you can place a person for a "skilled" nursing facility. My father was sent here for a week after open heart surgery. There was no "skilled" nursing. There was no rehabilitation. They put him in a room and never came back. Someone brought his meals (if that's what you can call them), they did not adhere to the cardiac diet restrictions that was sent in the transfer paperwork from the cardiologist, my father had to call everytime his medications were due, they told him he could do whatever he wanted. Lift, bend, walk unattended, etc...everything that was against the doctor's orders. I wouldn't wish this facility on my worst enemy.

Valley Vista Sandpoint is a hellhole nightmare. The staff—including the medical director, head nurse, and administrators—is extremely dishonest, incompetent, rude, and unprofessional; they nearly killed my father-in-law from improper medication and cruel negligence (we moved him ASAP). The facility is chaotic, unhygienic, and abhorrent. Avoid placing your loved ones here even as a last resort. *See photo of my father-in-law one month after moving him out of this horrible facility.

I am so glad my sister got into Valley Vista as she needs supervised care. She can now walk in the hallways and get exercise that she needs instead of being confined to one room. She is safe and that is very important to me. A pastor and his wife also visits Valley Vista. My sister enjoys having company to talk to and the staff is very friendly. Valley Vista has been very accommodating of my sister's special needs, which I greatly appreciate.

My 85 year old Mom was recently in Valley Vista for rehab on her hip. She fell 3 weeks ago and had hip replacement surgery. The staff and care givers were so caring, and gave her not only physical therapy but also emotional support. Their encouragement and kindness meant a lot to my Mom and my family. Myself and most of my siblings live all over the US. Staff made sure to have a phone available to my Mom when we called to check on her. I was included via conference call in the discussion of her rehab plan. The facility was clean and rehab was just right. They treated both my Mom and my Dad with respect and sincerity. Thank you April and team from the bottom of our hearts. She gets released tomorrow knowing she got a great start at recovery and a possibility of doing the polka one more time. Look out Dad, Mom's feisty again!
