After a nightmare experience at a previous facility (Haven Care) where my husband was neglected and suffered multiple falls, being referred to Faye and VALA by my husband’s PCP doctor was a godsend. My husband, David, is an Army veteran who survived a catastrophic motorcycle accident in September 2025 involving a fractured skull, 40 facial fractures, and major neck surgery. When he arrived at VALA, he was non-ambulatory and needed help with almost every basic life function. The difference in care is night and day. Unlike other facilities that claimed they could handle a "two-person assist" but lacked the staff to do so, VALA actually over-delivered on their promises and has two staff members and a cook for 10 residents. In less than six weeks under Faye’s care, David went from being unable to walk to standing with a walker, feeding himself, and regaining his independence. David spent his life serving others in the Army and as a mechanic at Kirtland AFB. To finally see him treated with the same compassion and professional excellence he gave to this country means more than I can put into words. Faye and her team gave us hope when we were running out of options. We are forever grateful.
