On behalf of my grandmother, Joy Anderson, who is a resident:

After living in three senior communities, it is very evident that University House has perfected the process of enriching senior lives. University House Issaquah smilingly strings you along for months and then just drops you. Plop!! Plunk!!
If there were issues with my becoming a resident, those issues should have been brought out in the open and discussed much, much earlier on. Not after much emotional investment, time investment, and financial investment. I had already been given a specific unit number, had made unit-specific purchases, had measured walls, etc. Then, after months of planning and paperwork and socializing and deposits, an unknown person phoned and said I was too depressed to become a resident. What more can I do other than medications and counseling? Are there really, truly no other depressed residents at University House?? They did not even allow me to keep my already-scheduled appointment with their own in-house mental health staff. They were downright cruel! Not professional. Insensitive. Uncaring. Cold. Cruel. Closed-minded. Last munute. I cannot tell you how underhanded they are!! I am hoping to find recourse for their horrific behavior. They turned out to be the absolute worst with timing and people skills!! Stay away.

Only 1 working elevator. Getting the second elevator fixed doesn't seem like a priority. Doesn't seem safe with all of those wheelchair bound residents
